Why are you capitalizing every first letter of your words.

And its because people that don't understand how to code go for MVC first because they think its easier, but it's actually harder to get it coded properly.

I personally think it's because at the time, if you wasn't doing Capcom or SNK characters or edits, you was doing something original. Looking at today's standards, it's full of people doing solid conversions, or "custom" style fighters. Not to mention THAT template....I still can't believe that was an MvC template. Either way, people just about done all the characters and then some. I also say that people want more good quality stuff nowadays and just like Iced says, it's hard to make "pure" MvC stuff that's actually accurate.

It's hated? I think there are more MVC conversions than POTS style. Which can also be a reason some may not like seeing it. It's everywhere and so saturated.

The thing is that 90% of the time a character is labelled as MVC styled, it's a shit character.

Most of the 'MvC-style' characters use the Eternity of Heroes template because the creator probably hoped it was completely 100% accurate MvC and thus their character would also be; the template is buggy and flawed, hence people are usually turned off by MvC-style character releases.

I don't remember MvC being hated by the MUGEN community at all. Now, most of the characters made to be "MvC" are actually really bad and those are hated but not the concept of MvC itself.

Because back in time the MvC styled chars didn't flow as half a accurate MvC char should be? I dunno.

Today there are people actually caring a bit for decent MvC gameplay though.

he might be using a cellphone/tablet with weird autoocomplete, it happens to some people I know because of that.

regarding the op question, vs series stlyeis ahted ebcause fo two things:

A) it's usually poorly done in mugen; notonly is the data inncacurate, ti does nt even resemble the actual charcaters, hell a lot of times not even teh gameplay resembles the game and it's missing several core elements.
B) it's an ovverpowered style, compared to the most accepted kof and classic-capcom styles, so the charcaters feel cheap.

Only a vocal minority hated the MVC3 games because it didn't include Mega Man and was made during a time where Capcom was making a total fool of itself much to the gaming community's frustration. The common opinion is really that it's not as memorable as MVC2 but still fun.

its not really hated per-say, people love the mvc games even though most of em are broken in one way or another, its just that people who attempted to code "true mvc" style characters are usually people who use the IMT template, which is always a bad idea. so people dont hate the mvc games, they hate how people try to handle characters in that sort of style in mugen.
