(solved)Sound not recording in Camtasia Studio 7?

Just got Camtasia 7 again. Everything is working fine except for the volume of the recording. Seems like the volume function is stuck at low for the program, so how would I fix this? I'm using XP and the docs say something about an option not appearing for XP users.
