I bet you weren't expecting this. Well neither was I! I feel like it could be better, but it's an ok-ish attempt. I learned about scalestart (which means you can only use this with 1.1 and IKEMEN) and timed possets.
The other .ogg in there is on purpose because I actually wasn't planning on ripping the actual BGM (the joke was that I never bothered to unmute the emulator).
I had a spoiler where I talked/rambled a lot about going through the process, but decided to remove it because of length, and because I typed it a little after I finished making the stage, so I was still irritated about certain things. Here's the short short version:
- Flag timings will never be accurate because the "idle" frame uses a random value .
- Trying to use the values the game tells you for scale or timings most likely won't help (I had to eyeball it for the scalestart).
- Lifebars and BG stuff are objects. Also expect whatever cheats you found regarding them to stop working if you change characters and/or stages.
- Ripping things is easier if you use sprite priority mods to hide almost everything but 1 BG object and then use a frame mod to cycle through all of the sprites used in the BG (everything's unscaled this way, and you don't have to waste your time finding scale mods that'll end up hurting your progress like I did). Also, avoid your sprites being near the top of the screen because they may or may not get distorted a little.
- The starting position of the lights isn't accurate because I was more focused on getting the timed posset to work with the timing values I came up with (I had to make my own timer using .lua for getting flag idle timings, and then repurposed it for this).
Blech Dark Souls - Stage 1I ended up making it after all because why not? The sky's broken up into 2 parts because I don't feel like joining together two parts to a 77 image animation (turns out I just needed to stop caring it's not a single image. That and dealing with multiple 64 pixel wide BG chunks is what kept me from wanting to make this). Also, it's got the same issues the alt version has with the reflections (speaking of which, I forgot I flipped the clouds for the alt version to further differentiate them, and was wondering why they looked off XD).
BTW, if you downloaded the alternate version, I updated it because it turns out I accidentally made it use posadd AND velocity for movement.
