But yeah, everytime someone points out gundam its about gundam seed, even on cosplays, so if you consider it a shitty sub series you should probably be aware that its extremely popular and liked.I would expect any further gundam interactions to be based off that one.

I AM aware of it's popularity. The people who like it are simply wrong. So, so wrong.

And what do you mean by "interactions"? There aren't going to be any more SEED series.

Anyway, yeah, future gundam series should probably follow that model.

That being said, I only watched the movies based on the original series, which seemed good enough to me (I'm not really in the mood to bother with the rest of the franchise anytime soon, since those only exist because of the original anyway), and it was interesting recognizing there stuff I'd seen before in Evangelion with the knowledge the classic preceded EVA by almost 2 decades.


That being said, I've read some interesting things on Getter, but the combining mecha thing doesn't appeal to me much - I'd be more interested in something that required several pilots working together in the same machine for reasons other than their machines starting out separate, could make for interesting dynamics - something like Herman's Head (loved that show), the mecha edition.

At least watch 0080. It's only six episodes, and is simply amazing.

I would also recommend Zeta Gundam, since it actually surpasses the original.

Yeah, SEED is extremely overrated and doesn't count (And I like BOTH Gundam and Getter!)
When people say Gundam I usually think about UC Gundam.

ANYWAYS, there's other mecha series like Votoms (Plus the Mellowlink spinff), Shin Mazinger (And the upcoming Mazinger SKL), Tetsujin 28, Giant Robo, etc.
