Strange Glitch with Warusaki3's CVS Gouki palette

var(12) determines whether it's Regular Gouki or Shin Gouki.

There appears to be a glitch where sometimes I pick the regular Gouki palette. Pal #1-6 is regular Gouki, and 7-12 is Shin Gouki.

There are times where I pick Regular Gouki but it shows up as Shin Gouki, and the bug will remain there until I fully restart the game. Meaning it'll persist if I exit into select screen, or main menu, and still come back, it'll still be Shin Gouki, on an incorrect palette.

Any clues?

Dig through state 5900 and see if anything seems out of place.
You might want to use displaytoclipboard to watch the variables and see what happens.
