How to convert drawing in sprites

Hello there, as the title says, i would to convert my drawings on the paper in pcx to use as mugen sprites, is there an easy way to make it?

Basically you need to scan, reduce the color count and clean them.
There are a few tutorials that go throught the process with tips and tricks.
Kiwi has a good one here

He is using Photoshop there, I guess GIMP has the same functionality maybe with a different name, search for it.
