A question for the technical sophisticated users and contributors:

Could Schwarzerblitz, which is free and modifiable, be a potential contender for a customizable and user-friendly 3D MUGEN in the future?

It is written in C++ and using a custom version of the Irrlicht Engine.

Hummm...
It depends of its files. If the files are of popular and friendly formats, like .OBJ to models, .BVH to animations and .DDS to textures, and if can be moddable, why not?
I tried a hack n' slash game named "Blade", but despite the modular disposition of the files (Like in EF-12), I couldn't to handle the files due to strange file formats.

Let's see, but it seems like a compete game with story mode and all.

The developer of Schwarzerblitz published a modification guide for this engine!

In my humble opinion it is a very helpful guide, which is well-written and very detailed.

What do you think about this guide?

The guide is well-explained, and the game seems very modular, since the guide have some samples to add into the game.
At least, if it had a modificable button system as EF-12 (That permits one char with a Virtua Fighter-like button system and other char with a Street Fighter-like button system), it would replace EF-12 with a little effort.

A bit late, but nonetheless worth mentioning:

The engine of Schwarzerblitz got its open source release at GitHub!

I did not see it mentioned in this thread, so it might be worth noting that Schwarzerblitz was released on Steam and recently got workshop support.

I am definetly going to try this out then if it has a Workshop. EF-12 was such a huge letdown, I hope this does it right.
