So just in case it's been difficult for people to keep up with the upcoming changes for the game, I figured it would be a good idea to keep everything here.Version 3.0.0Complete UI overhaulNew playable character: MeimuTweaks and rebalancing for the entire castVersion 3.0.1 ~ 3.0.XBugfixes, as neededTweaks and rebalancing for the entire cast, as needed
Considering the amount of progress that is currently being made, there is a very good possibility that Suika may be included alongside Mamizou in the 2.5.0 update. No promises, though.
Updated the roadmap as theres been a few changes. Due to current progress, both versions of Meimu will most likely be added in version 2.6.0 of the game, with 2.7.0 (the Tewi update) being the final major update to the game.
Updated the roadmap. As previously announced in another thread, Meimu will be the final new character added to the roster, and more than likely, 2.6.0.2 will iron out the last remaining bugs with the reset system that were discovered in the past few months, which should be out in a week or so.
Its been over a year since the last update, but we've been overhauling the UI and system mechanics to the game, so with that in mind, we have a new roadmap for future updates.Version 3.0.0 (Soon)New character: Meimu (Playable)Tweaks and rebalancing for the entire castVarious system revisions and consistency across all characters in the rosterCompletely redone UI and visualsVersion 3.1.0Inclusion of predetermined character-specific Arcade mode routes, so different characters will now have different bossesNew NPC Boss: EX Yukari YakumoNew NPC Boss: EX Lie MeilingRevision to how groundbounces and wallbounces are handledTweaks and rebalancing to the cast, if neededMore focus on story mode dialogue, as opposed to only having it during the final bossInclusion of intros & endings (hopefully)
While we're ironing out the system updates for each character, we're also revamping the dialogue scenes with the final boss, as seen here:
So now v3.0.0 has been out for a month and v3.0.1 was released not too long ago, I think now's a good opportunity to go over what's in store for the game's future:Major tweaks and/or revamps for some of the lesser used characters, namely Yuuka, Ichirin, and Chen, as well as others yet to be determinedTwo new possible boss characters: EX Yukari Yakumo and EX Lie MeilingInclusion of predetermined character-specific Arcade mode routes, so different characters will now have different final bossesMore focus on story mode dialogue, including character-specific Arcade intros & endingsRegarding the first point, a rework of Yuuka is already under way and may be available to the public within a week or two, before being included in an official game update. Just a highlight of what she's now capable of:Removal of 360 & 720 motions. All of these will now be replaced with half-circle motionsYuuka's two primary command grabs, Soil Tilling and Creeping Thyme, have been merged into a single special move. In addition, Yuuka now has an optional follow-up move to these grabs that allows her to launch the opponentFlytrap now puts the opponent into a special dizzy state that Yuuka can easily follow up from, rather than putting them into a crumple stateFlowers in the Wind has been completely redone from scratch and is now a DP motionRemoval of Thorny Rose and the addition of her Flower Parasol Charge special from IZ Yuuka, giving her a much better approach toolIn general, Yuuka's command grab supers are now much more flexible and can be used in combos under the right conditions
In the same vein as Yuuka, Yuyuko is the next "lower tiered" character that will be getting a few buffs. Though not as drastic as Yuuka, it should change her quite a bit:Rebalacing of her existing Normals, plus a new Command Normal to improve her combo gameLance of the Swallowtail Crest Z version now hits OTGFixed a major bug in Ghost Butterfly that made the velocities inconsistent when used at certain distancesEternal Wandering has been completely redone from scratch. While it still retains similar behavior as before, it is now a much more consistent pressure tool.In addition, Yuyuko will also be getting some prospective system changes to address two common complaints with the game, which will eventually be added to all characters once we feel the changes are sufficient:Throw tech window is now 15f (up from 7f), making teching throws much more lenientThe addition of Character Combo rates to limit just how much damage characters can do. The exact details of this are still being worked on, but it should cause combo damage to no longer be as absurd as they are currently.
In addition to the above system changes, we also agreed that ground teching in general was in need of a buff: As they are currently, they preserve the momentum of the last hit, so they're not too useful for mitigating the pressure this game has. In addition to making the recovery command much simpler to execute (hold any attack button instead of pressing two attack buttons), characters will now be able to tech forwards or backwards depending on directional input.Though Yuyuko and Yukari are special cases due to their tech animations, the same general behavior should be consistent with all characters
For those who haven't seen our latest Twitter posts, we're announcing the addition of two new characters, marking the first time in over 4 years that a new character (besides Meimu) was added to the playable roster:In addition to resident Training mode punching bag Tenshi finally getting a promotion to actual playable character, Sumireko (whose stage is already in the game) will also be joining the cast, bringing the total roster size up from 30 to 32.
