Oops, I just realized you've hi-jacked a Mugen Tips and Tutorials.

Some mod: better split the out-topic posts in the help section, with an appropriate title.

kkkkkkk: what is your OS? How do you launch the files? In a Dos 'Box', or in a full DOS environment?

my OS is winXP <<with sp-1 installed>>
and i just install VDMsound, follow iori's steps to config my VMDS,
and then right click my mugen.exe and choose run with VMDsound.

OK, kkkkkkk, go to Start --> Run
type "command.com" in the box, press enter
type CD\MUGEN
type CWSDPMI [enter]
type MUGEN [enter]

Be sure CWSDPMI.EXE is in the same folder as Mugen.

Edit: hmm... since you have Windows XP, I don't see why you would need CWSDPMI. Even if you've edited the properties of some programs. Unless VDMS is crappier than I was thinking. ???

Although I'm not sure if this will help Kyo Kusanagi
or Mmzero but here it go's,when I first started
using VDMsound I notice that the graphics where moving very slow untill I used one of the
filters, and the one that worked the best was
filter#3 the scanlines, after that the game was at
normal speed.I hope it works for you;D

Note:It seems that Adlib and Midi aren't causing
the Allegro error,it seems to be the joystick emulation,so you might want to leave them on
and just turn joystick emulation off. ;D

P.S.Also turn Adlib's synthesis up to 44100. :)

Because Mugen only has to display the normal number of lines divided by 2.

WINDOWS XP:

Some systems will outright eject 320x240 resolutions, esp those who don't have nvidia video cards. SO what do you do?

Use the doubleres=4 approach. Many people got better speeds and better performance because od doubleres. It doesn't have to be doubleres=4 though, although it would be better.

My guess is, sound speed is somewhat influenced by the kind of sound card, drivers, and cpu and bus speed. A good combination of these, coupled with large ram, can make your mugen run as if it were on DOS.
