Byrne is the newest SHADEs 2 character. This is the official Version 1.0 of the character. As you may notice, the spriting style is more detailed than my previous releases, as well as having more color depth.

***NEW UPDATE***

With the help of BC at the Mugen Evolution forum, all of his flaming attacks now set the opponents on fire. It looks great and I give full credit of that aspect to BC who put in the sprites and coding. It really makes a difference in presentation, I hope you guys enjoy it. Here's a list of all fixes/changes/updates:

-The new flame FX by BC
-Slightly altered velocities (yaccel changed from .44 to .5, jumps are also slightly longer)
-Fixed scaling on flame fx during Gabriel's Fury
-Shorter hittimes for Flare Shot, fixing the LP Flare Shot infinite
-Hellfire Blitz will now be comboable, that was a silly oversight on my part anyway
-Fixed win pose bug (the last update had both winposes set to 182)
-Fixed explod problems (forgot to set removeongethit = 0)
-Phoenix Ignition can now be interrupted, but the Phoenix can hit the opponent for damage

He now has a new Level 1 Super, the Nova Knuckle. A couple bug fixes as well. Get him while he's hot!

You can use Flare Cannon in the air? It's not supposed to be useable in the air. Kamekaze changed a good bit of the .cmd, and things like this have happened a couple times before. I'll check it out.

Char's alright but could use a little tweaking with some of his moves.

That's very vague and doesn't really help. The moves seem fine to me.

EDIT: Wow, I don't know what Kamekaze did, but something happened and some, if not all the supers can be done in the air. This was not like this before I sent it to him. I thank him for all the help, and I don't want to seem like I'm talking crap, but I have no idea what he did. I'm looking at the code for the moves and I can't figure out how to fix it, so hold off on downloading guys until I can get up with him. Damn, I was all ready for this release and then this stuff happens.

NEW EDIT: Alright, I examined the .cmd and found that the two Supers that could be done in the air had a projhittime trigger at the end of the list of triggers, and when I removed them, he could not do the moves in midair. I remember Kamekaze telling me he was adding these but I didn't realize this is what would happen. Anyway, whatever purpose they served isn't worth that particular bug, so I removed them. Sorry this thing's so glitchy, I didn't realize these .cmd changes were going to mess things up like this. I'm sure Kamekaze meant well, so not to be harsh on him. Everyone makes mistakes, this is my fault as well. New version is available, same link above. I would wait and see if more bugs are found first, but that particular one is a character breaker, so I decided to fix it quick.

easy solution, in cmd 1110 make trigger1 = (statetype != A) && ctrl into a triggerall. i put that and now the glitch is gone.(your gonna have to change all the triggers under it in numerical order)

love this character everything is good about him  :)

love the voices btw


edit:

3 things

1.if you keeep using his ex burn attack and you have all your gauge and waste it all, thats pretty much taking all of p2 life.(dunno if thats how it works)
2. his afterburn voice sounds kinda odd, like hes saying it to fast. didnt quite understand what he said till i kept repeating the move.
3. lol when he says burn kinda sounds like gucci man *burrr* lmao.

Just 2 little things, which are really minor :
- I think you shouldn't be able to link Flare Burst into another Flare Burst.
- Standing LP juggles too much IMO (try in a corner after Hellfire Blitz). Although the damage dampening make the damage ridiculous, so it's not a big deal.

I really love this character. :)
Design-wise, it's your best creation IMO (that's purely subjective of course).
Sprite-wise, he's your best work along with Ruckus in the shading department, and he just looks badass, with a really beautiful color scheme and "lovely" portrait.
Gameplay-wise, he's kinda basic (his specials are well known from everybody, that's what I mean), but he has some really neat attacks which make him unique (After Byrne, Phoenix Ignition & Gabriel's Fury).
The voices fit kinda well too, and the AI is okay.

One of your best creations IMO, if not the best. :yes: :2thumbsup:
Damn that's my 2nd one today, I'm becoming too nice :P :

Am I the only person that cannot combo into the Hellfire Blitz super?  That said, as Cybaster pointed out.. a solid character with a wicked design.

Dunno if you'd call this feedback, but here's a few things I noticed about the character:-

Opponent in Corner:-
J.HK, c.MP, c.HP, juggle with a few forward dashing AfterByrne's before finishing with s.HK


You can tag the lvl3 super on the end for silly damage, but... in truth, don't take it out, just dampen the damage a bit.  I found this out after being not being able to combo the Hellfire Blitz, and with the Ignition active, well.. the screen is pretty. ;)

Oh, should he also be able to still double jump?  Dunno if that's meant to be in there or not...

Hmmm, I swear, corner gameplay is the bane of my existence sometimes. I figured the MvC-damage dampener would take care of problems like that, but it looks like I'll need to fix it somehow.

Also, the double jump I actually forgot to remove, but I'll leave it on there for now because it doesn't seem worth reuploading the character just to fix that. I might even keep it in the character, since in SHADEs the only other characters who double jump are Zenith and Snow (and Vesper can triangle jump like Chun Li). I guess one more wouldn't hurt. Thanks for the feedback guys!

Keep the double jump, as he's kind of on the slow side it helps him out a bit, that is until you pull Ignition. :)

Well I finally got the chance to play around with him and as always, I'm impressed!  :2thumbsup:

Aside from the glitch where he gets stuck in the air after performing his super move he's very well made and fun to use. His voice is awesome too :)

Honestly, after using him in this video (yes my opponent doesn't have much AI), I can say he does need another level 1 special. The only one he has now is basically just a powerup of everything else and allows use of a level 2. Would it be possible to add another level one super so he's a bit more versatile in that department without becoming unbalanced? I can't find anything else wrong with this char, it's that well done.

How about a super version of AfterByrne?

Say, if you started the super, and he created an afterimage infront of him that would burn the enemy as he shifted back slightly, before dashing forwards about 3 character lengths with multiple burning images behind him, so that he dashes past the enemy a bit like Gen's mantis super?

It wouldn't be too offensive as the first AfterByrne would need to hit, I see it being a bit more defensive.

Newly updated, AGAIN, now with new L1 Super, the Nova Knuckle (inspired by Cybaster's suggestion of something similar to the Shine Knuckle or Burn Knuckle). Also, I fixed a glitch where the Flare Shots could be heavily spammed in Ignite Mode. Enjoy!

@ BC, a Super KO background would be nice, I think they will be in SHADEs 2.

Also, that super sounds cool Galford. Maybe I'll make an EX Byrne and have that as one of them.

I should note that the command for the Phoenix Ignition is now HCB,F,P, and the Nova Knuckle has taken over the QCB,QCB,P command.

Nice new super, simple but efficient. :)

Also, maybe you could limit juggling a little bit when in Ignition mode. Once in this mode, with opponent in the corner, I can perform D+z to launch him, and juggle up to 7 times the Hard Kick.
