Here's a preview video of his progress guys!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1i-SpXsBOcsLet me know what you think, either here or on the video, doesn't matter.EDIT:Since it wasn't done for the video, here are a few screens previewing his L3 Super, Sweet & Sour (with his tag partner Donny Brooks):Can't wait for you guys to see it in motion.
nice video.i love his sf4 dan style running, and his big chin when running nice ddt's and wall flips and i like superslooking forward to this.
Holy shit the volume on that video was LOUD. You might want to turn down the volume next time you are recording. He still feels a lot like Ramon (much less than before though), that and KAISER WAVE!The custom gethit anims looks kind of frameless, it looks like you didn't use enough frames, try look at some grapplers (Ramon? Since his moves are very much alike) in KoF, they use a lot more frames in their custom gethit animations. That would really smoothen it out even more, since he looks really smooth so far,
When you say custom get hits are you talking about when they are getting thrown, or like the forward flip when hit with the low lariat? The thrown anims have as many frames as Ruckus does, and I'm not sure how I can use more. Never mind, I found a way, they do look nicer now. Thanks for the suggestions. Also, trust me, he doesn't control like Ramon so he won't feel much like him when you play.

spikeriley said, May 20, 2009, 11:56:10 pmI wonder if Donny would one day become a playable character?Perhaps...

That looks freaking sweet.I am quite hyped for this release. Well, not quite sure when he'll see a release. None too happy about people coming out of the woodworks in the Wyldestar release topic to just now, after I've released several characters and even won site-specific awards for them, show up and tell me my sprites are "horrible" and what not. I always valued solid gameplay, balance, and animation fluidity over the intense detailing of sprites (something had to suffer, I'm only one man). I figured people would accept the lower color depth as part of my style, which many have, but I'm particularly easy to shake sometimes and I'm very defensive of my work. Having people come around now and call them "really bad" and insult my hard work is really getting to me, even though as an adult I really shouldn't let it bother me. I was just getting confident in my work and my standing in this community, and some people had to stroll up and shit all over it.When I am done, I will probably just announce he's available and have people who are genuinely interested PM me to get him. Feel free to try to talk me out of it, I could use some encouragement. One day, when I am done with SHADEs 2 and I have the time, I will show people just what kind of sprites I'm capable of creating. It will take me a long time, probably two or three times as long as usual, but I will prove them wrong. Or more likely, they'll just bitch about something else.
You've released several charachters and every time the quality increased... since the first "shades of manatthan" you've improved really, really a lot. Your actual style is nice, original, smooth. Trust me, you sprites aren't "really bad"; they are good, and detailed enough... really. I can understand you're very defensive of your work, cause surely you put a lot of efforts and spent a lot of time... please, keep up you work for those who appreciate your efforts and enjoy your ORIGINAL (yes, that's important) creations. On topic: the standing HK is very good I think some palettes have too much saturated color, for example green and purple trousers... maybe you should desaturate a bit light tones.
Thanks man, I really appreciate that.On topic: Thanks, I'm happy with the HK too. And I'll take another look at the palettes you said and see how they look with less saturated colors.
Some artwork of him I just finished. Took me a while (sketched, inked, scanned and colored), but I think it looks good:

This looks like a very nice character. And your spritework is good as it is. It's the quality that counts, and these characters have that in spades. Good luck on your project!

JordanoDaMano said, June 09, 2009, 01:00:24 amHey Sean, how's Ruckus coming along?I'm really looking forward to his release.Well, he still needs a taunt, and an intro or two, and also a DM, then he'll be done. I haven't been working on him much lately because of some other things I've been doing, taking it easy Mugen-wise after all of that drama at MI. He'll be done soon though, in fact, I found a couple more bugs in the latest SHADEs update (Sabotage can still attack while hopping forward along with a couple other problems), and Zeckle/Laxxe and I were talking about uploading a fixed version with Ruckus added as a bonus since people would have to download again so soon after the last release. So either way, he'll be available soon.randomish said, June 09, 2009, 01:27:33 amSeanAltly said, June 01, 2009, 01:12:28 amSome artwork of him I just finished.
