Honestly, seeing Andy and Joe in sprite form makes me believe the endings of this game were probably going to make use of regular sprites rather than cinematic art. Either that or they wanted to feature them in victory poses like they did with Kim.

I remember running intos upposed news that said Gato's sprites were edited to reflect his blindness. No clue if that was even real knowing I can't find that anymore, but I still love the fact that the animators bothered recognizing that he indeed lost his sight (or at least, partially) in a new animation.

It feels like showing a lollipop to a kid and telling them they will never have it...

We really need this game to be completed.
Sure it would be a lot of work... But I don't like the idea of this waste of assets...

Dotemu did show a Streets Of Rage 4 style Garou in Twitter last year.

So there's a little spark of hope. Around may be like 0.05 percent.  :bjugoi:

It was Guard Crush Games Lizardcube themselves, not DotEmu. Though if they can whip up a prototype, I'm sure SNK would be on board.

Oda-san seemed to really want MotW2 to happen for the past couple of years; if Guard Crush can actually make something based off of material that surfaced, maybe. Just maybe.

By knowing a bit these guys and exchanging with them in French (about Sor4 content and creation process) via "exclusive" livestreams etc.
NO, this will not happen. not by them. not even 0.0000000000000000001 percent sadly.

Unless someone make the sprites for them.
The sprite creation is really a problem for them.

This is also the reason why SOR4 MrX Nightmare update have really few new character "sprites"


But I have to admit, I also thought about them, as "challengers" for this task, like "OK! Sega don't wan't to make a SOR 4, we make it!" :)


If SNK want to complete this game, they will need some guy to control the project, and some army of spriters who can work well, fast, and for very low cost.
Such quality of sprites with a high amount of frames in 2022 would be extremely expensive I think.
And I think the music and voice content is not completed either??
But sure it would be awesome!

What makes people think that, if SNK were to make a Garou 2, it would be sprite based?

If SNK makes a Garou 2 it will 100% be 3D and made from scratch, most they'd use from these old assets would be the storyboards and concepts.

Huh? And here I thought the blind sprites were only for Gato's new attacks, yet there is his stance with closed eyes. I do wonder if this was part of a new install move, or if SNK really wanted to edit all of his sprites.

What's that white little pixel?

Is it used for like a visual anchor as a guide?

I actually put a neon colored line sometimes when doing walking animations just to see how smooth the animation is. I only use MS Paint and Giphy. It's primitive I know but it works.  :bjugoi:
