SF4 Metsu Hadoken by PotS


This animation comes from an old CvTW inspired Evil Ryu that was released here quite some years ago, I'm afraid I don't remember the author, but the thread may be still be there.

I used it for my Evil Ryu back then, so here's the version I color separated if someone is interested.


Edit: Here's also a kick made by Felo_Llop if I'm not mistaken.

Had a quick minute: The gif frame order seemed to have been mixed up. I also made some small changes to the animation, mainly the pants and the overshoot frames.

Wanted to post the work I've done for Mai in this thread. New and Edited frames in CvS. Credit to DivineWolf, Dampir, 'H', Capcom, SNK, Sean Altly for the backflip animation commission by RedDragonCats. Also, some of these are old drafts that I'm using for display, so they're not the final product:

Oh, some intersting new customs!
Some of these animations are based on my work. I was kind of surprised.

Basically :
-All command moves beside of "slide kick one"
-2nd super move "falling frames part", I did it as a request by DW

Thank you for clarifying it because I wasn’t sure who made those DivineWolf Custom Edits. Pertaining to the edits you did, I’ve made minor pixel changes like the Ukihane, Saiyo Chidori, Toki Tsunute, and Benitsuru No Mai to kinda clean them up a bit. For the Dairin Fuusha Otoshi, I actually remade that myself from scratch.

However, these versions where outdated. (around 2007)
I already upgraded them to something more coherent.
But I also tweaked a bit Mai actual design, so, it's still good you share these versions "compatible" with vanilla CVS2 Mai :)

I might use your custom of her special move from RB series where she rekka ken style throw fans up, for my personnal edit of Mai.

I'm curious what is edited in her Hissatsu ShinobiBachi (I have not checked in details) - I prefer when the sprites are separtated instead of gifs ^^;

Hey man, go for it. And for Hissatsu Shinobi Bachi, I added extra frames, equalling it up to the same frames she has in KOF 2002. It has a better chance of traveling farther than the HSB in CvS.

I do see what you mean on the slide kick because her legs look pretty skinny, but asides from everything else, I think they look fine.

I felt some had to be updated.
Since I plan to use some of them, I'll upgrade them to my personal vision of Mai.

However, I think most of these sprites are not consistent wit hthe base character, so, it's not a big problem.
It's like... the Mugen effect... or something.

I'm curious about the knee attack.
is it based on an actual move Mai use in any game????

The knee attack was specifically her close light kick from Fatal Fury 3.
