This is an interesting style I'm curious to see it animated.

Thanks!
As for animation... I've not really tried it much but I will eventually once I feel I can keep my proportions down consistently

Changed my workflow a little bit to be based off of a colour section map and a shading map to make doing palette stuff easier because palettes are fun.

nice Juri, i tried to try face pixeling, edits, this took 1 hour , but nonetheless

"Mercy, for the poor wizened child... Mercy, oh please"

Not 100% on the texturing on the, uh... the placenta.
Other than that pretty happy with this one, getting the palette was hard though because the only colour reference you usually see is in the boss fight... which has a strong blue light on it; I was originally colouring him a pale blue. Found more reference of the in game assets though and found he was actually grey.

I like a lot of these, like your Juri and Megaman EXE. The knight one is also a striking piece, with its use of colors to create a fire alongside the knight kneeling in position, matched with the black background to eboke the shadow of night. Your use of color gradients at such a scale makes them pop quite a bit. You even got Kaphwan's pants down. Also, any plans for non-One Step-styled sprites in the future? Captain America and the Avengers, for example, would be a good style to dig into from here, as it isn't too far removed from One Step From Eden in style terms, but just enough to be recognizable as that game.

Thanks a lot!
Whether I'm gonna try other styles in the future is up in the air right now
I'm really enjoying this style at the moment, though it's not like I've not done other styles (look back in my work a bit and you'll see my semi Third Strike-ey CVS-ey whatever style I was doing for a while before I fell in love with this.
Plus as a learning tool it's really helping me get my silhouetting and grasp of proportions down, though I'll go back to the semi 3S style at some point so I can hopefully really start nailing muscle structures.

I'm having a lot of trouble, if someone could offer some advice.
I'm trying to do Ornstein, but it's proving kinda difficult to define his shapes properly.
His armour is normally all intricate but the art style I'm going for isn't; if I add a bunch of detail the simple two tone shading took disappears or the whole thing starts to look muddy, but it's hard to demonstrate that he still has shape to him because it's all one colour.
I'm really struggling here

Outline the main features with a dark colour.
You could use this as a reference:

The image you attached isn't displaying

I gave it another crack with the idea of using a dark outline for detail
I also took a subtly different shade of gold and used it as a trim colour. Not different enough to massively stand out (I hope) but enough to add some depth to the gold.

I fixed the link of the image. ;)

Looking at the palette table, you have some colours that could be replaced by others which are too similar. The dark brown tones, to name one thing.

I haven't mentioned this but I'm kinda proud of it tbh
I haven't actually done any tracing since I switched to this new art style (except for a little bit with the Juri to get them Capcom proportions)

I know my anatomy and proportions still aren't great but I'm happy I've taken that step.

Not completely happy with the arms or the feet on this

Also her chest was pretty hard to define... Large knockers are difficult in small resolutions
Also I just noticed I didn't update the palette display for palette 2...
Oh well.

Here's my latest, the colour map was included in this one because I was demonstrating part of my workflow on Twitter
Also the palette display may be kinda long and have duplicates but that's because I did the palette display on the colour map *before* tinkering with the palettes.

Today's daily gives us Zasalamel
My god his design and all the danglies and all his accessories are SO hard
I can see why character design was so much simpler in the pixel days

Not completely happy with the shoulder region, or the lower torso (he kinda looks fat)
But, another piece down, more experience under the belt
