B.B. Hood is finally done... however, I have been left scarred and deformed from this great making. The mere mention of the word "butterfly" continues to cause me great emotional distress. It'd be nice to just take a long break from MUGEN.

... but there is still work to do. There are still characters I must make. And the next was foretold at the very start, over a decade hence:
Oh so its Kyo. you know for a big moment I thought it was Shingo.

ok, enough with this dumbass flowery word gimmick style of typing. Anyways, Shingo. The moveset is pretty self-explanatory, I would say—it's basically his 2002UM movelist, really. The only real thing that might seem odd is the QCF+2p EX move stuff; I'm gonna try to essentially downgrade the Eolith era version of his QCB,HCF+p super into an EX move, with the classic style Burning Shingo being the actual super associated with that command. The basic concept for the downgraded EX move version is that it'll be Shingo doing the full version of Kyo's Dokugami chain, with no repeated attacks like there are in the super version.

There's no equivalent CvS sprites for Kyo for that intro, but I don't want it to be like the KOF99 and beyond games where Kyo just does his default intro and doesn't react to Shingo at all cuz that's super lame. I dunno what would work, though.

There's no equivalent CvS sprites for Kyo for that intro, but I don't want it to be like the KOF99 and beyond games where Kyo just does his default intro and doesn't react to Shingo at all cuz that's super lame. I dunno what would work, though.

What about the sprites where he's talking with Iori?
You could have him be silent while Shingo's talking,
& then Kyo talks & disperses the flame.

Aw, Shingo Kick can't be done in the air?  That was a good tool he had in later games, especially off of back-dashes.
I was never a big fan of it. Like, it was cool in XI when they were experimenting with people's movesets, but I wouldn't consider it a staple for him.

Yes. But probably no criticals on any other moves.

Ah, that sounds like it’ll fit well.
By the way, speaking of intros, didn’t your Joe & King have the KOF 98 special intro at one point?
I could have sworn they did, though when i tested it, i remember the special intro being from CVS2 instead.

The spriteset is already separated, but I'm doing my own CS pass to add a few minor things so that the level of separation is equivalent to my Kyo:

An idea I've toyed with was to make Kyo's palettes compatible with Shingo's, or at least mostly compatible provided you change a few things. It inherently can't be 1:1 because Kyo has certain details that Shingo doesn't and vice versa, but those are all incredibly minor (it's really just that Kyo has a sun on his back and Shingo has different shoes that use a different number of color slots, that's it). But theoretically it should work!
