To me, there's none, because a review is written on each website by a single person, and can't be representative enough.
I always cross reference at least 4 or 5 reviews to get an idea.

I don't like paid reviewers.  Most of them take bribes and generally make faulty reviews.

I usually wait for what most people say and look up at a couple of sites. Mostly though its personal experience that matters more than a mag or what a site says.

totally agree. + i dont trust game magazines and sites anymore. reviewers tend to critizise a game a lot when its like the prequel as example. i believe something like strong similaries should be mentioned but not influence a rating since it doesnt shrink the quality of a title. i can understand the frust of reviewers when they have to review a lot games which a similar but i as consumer didnt play them all

i also tend to prefer user written reviews now

When I truly want a detailed perspective on how I may like a particular game before playing, I do a mix of everything.  Talk to friends, watch gameplay videos, read various review sites (without paying ANY attention to their "scores"), read posts on various boards etc. etc. 

I frequently use popular sites like IGN for their enormous database of information, screenshots, and videos; however their reviews are an utter waste of time.  Most of their articles are written on a 5th-grade level to begin with, full of useless opinionated jargon, they contradict themselves left and right, and almost always on a scale of 6-10 (instead of, you know, 1-10).  Most importantly, almost every IGN review is one of two things. It's either an overly-positive commercial, making it painfully obvious their goal is to literally sell you the game; OR it's a brutal smear-campaign, trying to slam the game so hard that it does not sell well at all.  If the reader is remotely intelligent, none of this is helpful.

None. I find that podcasts for most gaming publications are more indicative of the reviewers' opinions than the sites/mags. You be surprised to find out how guys from places like IGN and Game Informer feel about the scores they have to post.
