Creation of portraits

Hello dear friends of the community.

I recently tried to create portraits (9000.1) for my first screenpack.

I found a problem: In the image, the KFM frame was created in Photoshop with indexed colors and saved in PCX. The image is very clear, but the text is terrible.

In Ryu's image, I will create 9000.1 in Ilustrator and save it only in png. Result: perfect text, but the image is unclear in MUGEN.

What would be the best way to create a photo frame?

Obs: Mugen 1.1

If you're using png already, there is no need to use pcx. Use photoshop and when inserting the text, change the blend mode to "sharp". Keep the background transparent and save as png.

You'll be wanting to work with photoshop rather than illustrator for this. Photoshop works with pixels, illustrator works with vectors. In MUGEN everything is pixels.

Thank you friend. But I didn't understand this part: blend mode to "sharp". can you explain me?

Oh, I got it. You're saving as 32bit but applying a palette when importing to Fighter Factory.
Instead of picking a palette, click on "ignore", see if it works.

Also I noticed the portrait in the left side has some black outlines in the text, while the right side does not, why is that?

About the blend mode I mentioned before:

That's not a blend mode, that's text anti-aliasing :P

Oh, I want a diagram. I fucking love diagrams.

Thank you friend, I will try this. About the text having a black border, I did a test because I was told it would help to improve the display of the text.
