Astral Chain is the big thing Platinum were working on. It was showed off quite a bit during Directs, so I'm not sure how you missed it.
Oh good, it's just a "W". When I first saw the picture shrunk and cut off on my phone I thought he was attempting dabbing and had a feeling of dread sitting in my stomach since.Does Arle from Puyo Puyo count as an anime magical girl? Because I guess that's kind of a magical girl pose thing he's doing, and it's frankly kind of a weird picture of him? Not that I know much of anything Arle does, never mind if she does a pose that's similar but that's the first thing that came to mind. The whole peace sign in front of the eyes gesture.Or I guess it could just also be Waluigi, he's often slouched over like that too. Though it's just Wario who does the "W" hand gesture, no?
It could also literally just be Sakurai doing a random gesture with no hidden meaning behind it, but that's not nearly as fun to talk about.
It is a bit more exciting going into this one because there's been almost no truly credible or definitive leaks this time around. Between datamining and shoddy website maintenance there hasn't been an actual surprise reveal since Joker.Just for kicks, I'm gonna guess either Arle Nadja or Travis Touchdown.
Now, I haven't played or watched any of No More Heroes outside commercials, but isn't Travis Touchdown this raunchy, foul-mouthed playboy wanna-be character? Dumbing him down to fit Smash's all-ages parameters seems to really take away a lot of his personality. If they threw in Doom Guy, the MK ninja or Ryu Hayabusa for example and reeled in the blood and gore, they'd still be fighting with moves likely reminiscent of their game's history which more greatly reflect what the characters represent in, well, video game history. Travis just doesn't seem like he offers much outside his rude personality that molded his character, and that would be most certainly neutered in Smash. It'd be like adding Duke Nukem, essentially.
You wanna talk toned-down adult characters then look no further than Bayonetta. All they have to do is just not let him say 'fuck' as often and he's fine.Travis actually has a lot of potential as a Smash character. His fighting style combines ultra fast lightsaber bushido with heavy pro wrestling grapples; It's not any more dependent on blood and gore than any of the other characters you mentioned.
To be fair I also do not care for Bayonetta in Smash at all and she would be the first I would not miss if missing in a future title. She feels exceptionally out of place in this game, which I suppose is a remarkable feat in a game that cheered on a human-eating space dragon getting in.I'd imagine they would be fine getting around the more brutal combat content found in his original game just as they would anyone else. It's just I'm left to imagine Travis's personality stems explicitly from his character being a potential contestant on Jackass more-so than any gore effects or suplexes during combat. That's secondary in what defines him.But then again, yeah, Bayonetta is in, and the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of her is that time Nintendo or some Nintendo fan site got a bunch of porn stars interviewed on how she stands up for their style of life for the second game, so whatever. If they can find a pleasing middle ground, more power to them, good for the fans. Just seems like you'd be getting the diet version of the character to me.
How does Bayonetta feel more exceptionally out of place than someone like Snake or weird shit like Mr. Game & Watch? I think you're just biased.
This is just the anger and disappointment at work but...FUCK FIRE EMBLEM!!!! FUCK IT TO FUCKING HELL!!!And another fucking sword user to boot. FUCK!!
