And nice custom use of these ice sprites :)

I'm actually planning on editing another Bust A Move sprite for World Shaking the way I edited a sprite from Sky Blazer for Jupiter Thunder Dragon. I had fun modifying it. This was actually 2 separate sprites combined into one which are from Sky Blazer and Sailormoon Another Story.

This one is a different Openbor project. Just thought I'd share it cause I actually commissioned another pixel artist to do this Natsume/Banpresto style Sailor Saturn way back in 2012 or 2013.  :egypt:

I'm actually planning on editing it and adding some new stuff especially for Mugen/Ikemen.  :beatnik2:

Made new sprites for Sailor Saturn.

Finally have a proper knockout and rise animations includes a new attack which is also her intro in the Super Famicom game.

The last row only has one new custom which is the 4th one. The original one looked really awkward.



Hope you guys can use it. Also there are new animations from Multiv28 and I don't have those but they look cool though.

Also I'll be incorporating moves from a character named Karin Son from Voltage Gowcaizer as I find Sailor Saturn's Super Famicom standing normal slashes uninteresting and they won't look good for a beat em up standard combo.

Other future plans would be to make her shorter (I'll be making a 2nd sprite sheet for that) as I didn't specify her height when I commissioned her back in 2014. Will research on moves from the spear girl from Trinity Blood with the Dengenki Bunko Fighting Climax game.

New Sailor Saturn combo animation is done. Hoping I can finish all her necessary animations for the Openbor side of things next week then I'll proceed with her Mugen custom animations which are usually crouching attack frames and a few other things specifically for fighting games. Goal is to be done by mid May then work back on Sailor Jupiter or Sailor Chibimoon.

Whoo hoo!!! Done with her standard brawler combo.  :bjugoi:

Using Karin Son sprites made this look better. I have one more move to add for the Openbor stuff which uses both Karin Son and Skates from Streets Of Rage 3.



After that I'll work on Mugen custom moves which are basically crouching attacks, jumping attacks, roll, victory and lost animations. Hopefully I can finish everything by end of May and make Sailor Saturn Melty Blood, MVC or KOF compatible.

2 new secret characters (well not so secret anymore  :catgoi:).

Getting there. Calling it a day. I don't want to exhaust myself like last time. I'll work on the skirt tomorrow.

This was so worth it though. Originally planned Lt. Kurosawa for base but I ended up with Natsume from Ninja Masters.

I was actually done with this frame last year but it's like a standing frame and I have to be the in between animator and everything has to be perfect.  :knife:

Was working on Sailor Jupiter but Shinmrgrill wanted this badly for Openbor for her spawning animation. Thankfully the old S game had this for her intro.



 :lol: My artwork around the face is so different from the original.  :hyo:

I'll most likely edit the original especially the eyebrows.

There should be a lift for each leg. Right now you have one lift per cycle, which makes it look like she's limping on one leg. Here's a quick and dirty edit (the images you posted are resized, so I can't help you with the original sprites):



This fixes the up and down issue, but the ribbon movement and hair movement are not correctly synced yet in my example. The moment the body goes down is when the ribbon and hair should puff upwards and then as her body rises, both elements fall down as they're being pulled upwards again.

Went back to this again.

I hate doing this but I have to.  :sugoi:

Hope I got this right.  Also I just noticed in beat em ups there's no  upper body animation when they carry weapons while running or walking. Even Hannah's hair in Cadillacs and Dinosaurs doesn't animate when she's carrying an uzi. But since I already started it seems like a waste.



I think I may need to work on the hair a little. But so far that's my best one for today.

Anyways I'll make a static upper body animation just to give the coders some options.

Here's the static upper body animation for that traditional beat em up look/feel ala Cadillacs & Dinosaurs.

Thanks. I use to frankensprite a lot. These days I rarely use the technique (I actually use other body parts from different games like Variable Geo 2) and reserved for really difficult moves especially when I barely have any reference to work with especially when it's either the back side or a character is doing these yoga like poses which most KOF characters do.
