The system follows a four button layout, with two punches and kicks (dubbed Lights and Strongs). You can chain normals together, along with command normals and specials (EX: LP>LK>SP>6LP>236LP)
-LP+LK is the throw, dubbed a Grapple. It's also the Z button as a macro. You can tech it (dubbed a Grapple Break) by pressing the same button combination when the opponent grabs you. Each character has a forward, back and air throw.
-Every character has a passive ability called the Unique Trait, which ties to their Craze Technique or compliments their moveset.
-SP+SK is the Craze Technique. It's also the C button as a macro. The Craze Technique varies per character and is a special move that either offers an offensive or defensive option to them.
-SP+SK during a block uses a guard cancel, dubbed the Heartbreaker, to create space between you and the opponent. It costs a bar of Adrenaline.
-Blocking the instant your opponent strikes with an attack will earn you the Perfect Guard, which heals Potential Health, and the Guard Gauge.
-Potential Health occurs after taking damage. You can recover this health by disengaging the fight.
-Every character has a Guard Gauge, which will lead to a Guard Shatter once depleted. Be careful!
-Adrenaline is the name of the super meter. Other than Heartbreakers, you can use super moves.
-All-Out Attacks are level 1 supers. Generally, characters have two or three of them as powerful offensive maneuvers.
-All-Out EXes are level 2 supers. They are either enhanced versions of an All-Out Attack, or a stronger offensive or defensive option that costs 2 meters.
-All-Out Destruction are level 3 supers. Very power attacks, or an install that boosts the player's moves for a short bit.
-Other than supers, the best way to engage offensively is the Dire Counter system. When punishing an opponent's whiffed or blocked attack, they will suffer the Dire Counter state. Each special has a unique Dire Counter outcome that helps extend your combo, such as a Groundbounce, or a Crumple state. When starting a Dire Counter with a normal, you can do one repetition (EX: j.SP DC>LP>SP>214SK>LP>SP>623SP). When starting a Dire Counter with a special, you can do two repetitions (EX: 214SK>LP>SP>646SP>LP>SP>623SP). The video provides a better visual example of this system.
