Hey Mugen crew, sharing something I had done on/off.

My concepts for Juri, for Mugen. The ultimate goal was a full character, but this is taking way longer than my quick 10 second *High* of a finished character.

Drawing is something that i had no idea how to do. Heck I am surprised how I was able to do even this much. So I want to show you, that if you think you can't, just keep trying even if. Let me show you my progress,

Ha, appreciated, want to see if I can push out more Juri as much as I can with whatever I got. If there is anygood tips on keeping the lengths/widths proportionate let me know,  the angles are killing my head and for this reason i cant do the sprites as fast as i would like to

Thanks Alex, that was an older smaller pic compared to the newer bigger size ones i drew. Couldnt get that exact pose right again this time around, i swear this pose has been drawn so many times and still get it wrong.

shaded using light and shadow layers
using the laptop mouse so its very tedious and slow, but i just put it together , then resized to see what it looks like
left one is  Height 200 px , right one is H 130 px

Juri Han back High Kick from SFV converted to this sprite size of W78 H200,
looks okay, theres a lot of cleanup with this method too, so i don't know what to do in terms for speed,
cleaning the unwanted outer edge colors seem to be another issue

not sure which looks better, first 3 are sized at Height 200

no interpolation , linear , LoHalo

no interpolation, sized at H100

I think the bottom one looks best, due to the use of shading. Then the middle top one. Maybe you could try a size in-between? Her right arm's elbow area could be darker to suggest more foreshortening, though.

@miru

i only used a slight highlight just to finish off the sprite, tried to make it look as elegant as possible but with mouse its very slow, nonetheless my super computers been down for a year now., think the MB is fried, it powers on but no display. Anyway, i can try H150 it should be better , but even at 200 theres detail loss; so at size H400 things look neat but its not standard CvS size( or hideous-atticbox-art, aka pixel crud),
example i did today, on this Chun-LI

H200

H400, 3rd one with dithering

palettes are a pain, thats why u see red in the C2 costume,

Studying anatomy, perspective and shapes would help make your drawings much better.
I feel like his face looks too flat and mis-proportioned, in the other sketch his neck was too big.

The way you index stuff doesn't make them pixel art, but I'm not sure if that's what you were trying to do.

@ Alex
no doubt, i'm observing from various stuff on here., but I think i have accomplished about all i  wanted in mugen + added alot of  graphic skills in the arts of game, if capcom hires me, i'd take the job for  free
yeah,  the face is not dynamic.., proportions were loosely drawn to increase speed;  although i have tried the different angles before coming to this
Iori scratch custom punch, this ones 221 resized,

no references

I know you're experimenting with stuff, but you should use references in the first stages of your drawing learning experience, to learn the fundamentals of animation and anatomy. ;)

Juri has a broken - twisted back and the face doesn't look accurate.
