Got his normals done: https://streamable.com/3eap6

Edited a few sprites involving the neckband so it's a bit smoother, and one with the mouth after his C.HK.

Anyone willing to do more sprites like Runs, Dashes and Rolls, throw 'em at me.

  • I swear I've been working on Geese all this time.
  • Kind of POTS style editor, except not really.

Wait, Lessard never made sprites for any of those?

Hmm... I suppose until you get sprites for them, you could use the Asura Senku sprites for the Rolls & Dash. Not exactly the most ideal, but they are something.

Nah there wasn't sprites in the sff.
Lessard's retired aswell so I can't ask.

I might just limited to to Forward Dashing for now for the run and worry about the rest later.

Slowly coming back to this guy.
Shoryukens complete, along with a tease of his Hadouken.

May deal with the gethits and System mechanics first before having the nerve to do his Specials and Supers.
I may do some hitbox tweaks in addition.

I was curious but I know that Vyn did his own version with some edited sprites for Evil Ryu to make him look/play more like Kage, as long as it's ok with him couldn't you use the sprites he did to set up a better base .sff until you have all the needed sprites to swap in. As long as the character will play the same that way you can just build a separate .sff as the sprites become available. Either way I'm really looking forward to what you come up with on this Rowen progress looks good so far!

Well just using Evil Ryu's sprites would make the character look samey in my eyes. Using different sprites helps distinct it.

I understand but I meant more like as a general base so, you can eventually replace the Evil Ryu looking sprites eventually but at least have the base done, and then just eventually swap out the .sff files as needed, but I get ya.

More baby steps.
Ashura Senkuu done, starting his Hadoukens (Still need to edit the properties from what I was doing for Violent Ryu).
I admit the Backwards Senkuu's pretty badass (Yeah that has separate sprites).

I feel like his standing animation needs polishment. I mean, i get that you're basing this char off his SFV sprites/animations, but when you're porting a 3D character to 2D i think you need to change a few things, 2D animation needs to go an extra mile to look truly convincing, while in 3D it's more natural because you don't need to draw a third dimension, the "profundity".

I can handle basic sprite edits like headband or mouth movements, but full animations like that aren't my thing.
I still have some small experience. I've made a couple of Small Ports for Infinite and Falcon Rapper (If that counts). I also did some edits to some custom Yamazaki sprites for Knuckles, more to give him better CvS-ish details.

I'm still accepting extra sprites though.

Kazuya added, check first posts for some details.

Had basically zero motivation for Kage over the past months, so I'm tackling something else for now.

After you're done with Kazuya, maybe I can let you have Kain Blade since I stopped working on him.

Thanks for the support peeps,

About his Mist/Special Step. Infinite's Jin has it as F, D, DF, P.
In the Tekken series and SFxT it's F, D, DF.

I did a poll for what command you'd prefer. I myself am for the latter (First option for poll to avoid confusion) because it's easier to perform followups.

After you're done with Kazuya, maybe I can let you have Kain Blade since I stopped working on him.

I'm not interested but good on you for suggestions. Would it not hurt to release the beta publicly like Brink did?

F,D,DF it is.

Another poll is up, sorry if it sounds dumb but I'm just making sure.

First Level 1 Super, based on his SFxT Super Art. The MAX version is set to be the same thing, but with the Eye Laser from the original after the Upper connects and launches.

https://streamable.com/wflsh

Very Kung Fu Barrage-ish, but that was a good template for this super on its own.
There is a bit of combability afterwards but I couldn't get the input timing correct in the preview (I was trying to go for the Wind God Fist/Rising Uppercut which is a possible juggle).

There's also a CS Template or w/e on the first post if you're curious or wanna make ye' olde Palettes.

Not sure if it would help for inspiration but maybe his Project X Zone combos could give you some more ideas. Hopefully you can do something like making the laser work as more of a standard projectile with limited ranger for normals, and full range for an EX version, instead of just being limited to a single super.
