We started this project back in 2002. Maybe it's time to finish it?

This video shows a collection of Level 3 hypers from many characters from the game (not all) and also shows some new characters (again, not all).

This project is often linked with nostalgia of early memories of people with Mugen, something which makes us very happy. Love it or hate it, Spec Ops is part of Mugen history :)

Are you hyped for that?

Maybe this request will not be accepted, but I still have to do it. Wouldn't it be appropriate to put a hyper background (not startup and hyper combo finish) of the same color for all the characters? Visually, the graphic effects of hyper moves mingle with the hyper background, making everything confusing.

Also, I think the effects should be as less flashing as possible ... you know, to avoid epileptic seizures.

No, i don't think so. The hyper background matches the color of the effects to help to bring a standard for each character.

About the flash effects, they are part of the spec ops trademark- they were always like 5hat. We could add some warning, but we have no plans to remove the flashes.

Long time ago I remember of some character name Li Kuen or something like that, perhaps I'm mixing up my memories.
Could it be a beta name of this Shaolin guy? ^^

You mean Lau Khuen?

I don't think he will make the cut. The last version I have for him is very old and he would need to be updated a lot to me on pair with the other characters.

I had some cool ideas for him, but now dunno if he it would be too much "shoto clone".

Probably, yes. We need to see if it fits the game and, most important, if you will edit the whole sprite sheet for him. You can PM me the sprite if you want.

Red Cyclone can access "Obsidian Body mode", where he gains super armor and can use some fire based moves like this.

It's good look this old project alive again.

PS: Friend, you remember of Bruno de Souza char? You have this char?
Maybe It's a good idea for a new char in rooster. It's good for a nostalgia taste. I can make the required sprites, If you want.

This is what I remembered ^^

Of course at this old time any shoto clone looked OK.
I have to say that now, with the billions of characters released, the effect is not as good, but it still brings me some kind of nostalgy seeing these old WIPS screens ^^

I have all the characters from that project - the authors gave them to me and I can use anyone I want.
But I am not sure if I will use them - at least, for now. We want to finish this at least.
Then we can think about an update someday.

There is a char I need to update - MB-03, aka Virtual Weapon (one of the 3 weapons built by Shadaloo)
She has a ability to morph herself into many different characters for almost every animation (including walking, crouching, etc) using 3 different options per animation.

In some of those cases, she could morph into some non street fighter characters, like somes from Darkstalkers and Jojo (no Marvel*, KOF or any other company) but, after those years, I am not sure anymore if Darkstalkers could fit - Jojo will be removed for sure. Today, we have way more options to choose from Street Fighter, Final Fight, Rival Schools and Captain Commando.



What do you guys think? Should Darkstalkers be removed from the character or they are okay?

I can't work on her right now, but its something I would like to hear opinions.
PS: *on the past, she had a power drain move which would work against some Marvel characters, but this will be changed and it will work only inside the Spec Ops universe.
