Having just been reminded of this, and i posted it for infcat which is no longer moving. Will repost here

The guard states in mugen 120-155 are handled in a rather special manner. Namely the loss of life from the guard damage isn't actually set anywhere in those states. The guard spark also comes up on it's own pretty much.

It would be nice if a movetype (movetype = G) could be set that gives a state all the functionality of a guard state. Both the life lost and the fact that the state should be treated as guarding. Possibly with the option to disallow taking the guard damage too although that should be a seperate parameter. Assertspecial maybe.

Sure you can modify the guard states but i don't wish to do that when i'm coding autoguard states which don't come off brilliantly anyway.
