Hi everybody, before focusing entirely on Gohan Z2, wev'e decided to resume the update for our main Z2 characters released up to now. :D
This 3-in-1 update includes a lot of new stuff for everybody, fixes, AI and color separation for SSJ Goku, etc.

Time for me to drop something here! I'll likely be back for more during today or later once I go in deeper.

Goku
- General improvements seem good so far, I'll mess around more with his projectiles but they weren't my main focus here.
- EX Snap Kick still comes out too fast. At most, certain characters can dodge it with a very small frame window.

Vegeta
- Good improvements on his overall approaching options, he's not nearly as bad as before.
- Downwards air projectile(I forgot the name already, heh) needs a bit of a draw to it. Given that you want it as a combo-move, I'd make it have less blockstun but keep the hitstun(AKA if it hits the enemy it has the same hitstun, but blockstun should be reduced). Just to compensate for the landing out of it being seamless. I'd give the downwards Galick Gun a landing state too, since it doesn't really start combos, and it wouldn't have a big impact on how the flow of the move worked.


More to come potentially, good job on the update so far!

But are there truly grown men in this world?!

def for goku 1.0 is loading with goku having no speech on his attacks taunts etc, is that normal?

I replaced the snd line with the same from the normal def and that one works.

Stop doing like Balthazar and overriding your old version. Make a clean install. Do you install Windows 8 on top of Windows 95 ? There is no 1.0 DEF for Goku. There hasn't been for one or two years. There is no separation between 1.0 and Winmugen. >:(

Nope.
Well actually, open state-2-3.cns and set var(48) to 1 instead of 0, and see what happens. I can't guarantee the character won't have bugs though, so don't complain. :P

We took out Forbidden Genki Dama along with all his other SSJ references, because we were doing a seperate SSJ Goku anyway.
And I wasn't really happy with how the move turned out.

Also, I know you've both got a lot on your plate but any plans for a Mr. Satan update? (At least coding wise?)

Oops I guess BlueSun forgot to apply the palette seperation to that sprite!

Well personally, I don't feel like working on Satan anymore at all :P We got this out of the way so we can finish Gohan in time for dinner Christmas!
By the way, beta testing on him shouldn't be too far away, so get your fingers ready, BPTM2694!

*Also, I stil think Vegeta's aerial Machine Gun Temper needs to be unsafer. He really abuses it a lot, his AI. Now he is just allowed to jump over you and shoot it, forcing you to block, and he can land and start whaling on you before giving you time to react, you NEED to keep blocking. This is also when he throws you. Which you obviously CAN'T block. Which is fine, but Vegeta does it way too often, it gets really annoying.
I overall like the agressiveness of his AI, but this is still too much. He needs to have one or two more flaws. His aerial Machine Gun Temper is the worst offender still, it's too easy for the AI to abuse it.

Nope.

Nice job, guys!! I really like your work. Vegeta is awesome. :)

I noticed something. Japanese voices are really low, they need much more volume for Goku and SSJ Goku. This is less a problem for Vegeta (a little bit, but not as for the 2 others).

Keep the flame burning, Z2 team!

@BlueSunStudios: could you color separate the big portrait and mouth animation for the big portrait displayed during Beam Collision ? Unless it was already done and there was a mess up somewhere ? Anyway, just send me the sprites with the CS and correct index, so I can include them to the SFF. :)

- Custom state issue, Goku makes the opponent display a voice, so I chose a number such as 5000,0 which is often used as gethit sound in many characters. Unfortunately, sometimes there's no voices at this number, or in this case it displays a gethit voice in the wrong language, depending on the one you're using.
- We removed it, as it was the alt. SND packs with other hitsounds and system sounds. We're unifying the whole Z2 system, so the packs disappeared.

Yeah and oh about the feedback about Goku's EX Snap Kick still coming out too fast: I think it's fine. If you anticipate it (after blocking the first two Dragon Fist attacks), you're able to use a quick jab to knock him out of the animation before he hits, works for me almost every time.

Depends on the height and speed of the jab in relation to Goku's hitbox. You have a very small frame window and it's pretty minute.

@Cybaster: were you able to reproduce (and eventually fix that intro issue with Goku Z2, where the cloud would not be there & the dragon would just spawn from the bottom of the screen?)

İ downloaded and tested it. İ see amazing updates and can see the changes that are listed above. When comparing The Gameplay with the previous version, İ must say that those Character's are getting better and better. They get more balanced with each update really. Great work with this Guys.

Yeah, that's it. I just realigned the sprites in the SFF and will upload a fix soon.
I'm more likely to put the fault on BlueSun than on me, but hey, it's not a big deal, and we're not going to start backtracking little stuff like that LOL. :P

@Djoulz: I was never able to reproduce this bug on my setting. :(

Awesome! I've just discovered all those characters. AI is quite hard to beat though, or am I that weak?
Do you think you will give the same treatment to One Piece characters? Just suggesting but it would be awesome to finally get a suitable Street Fighter-like Luffy :p

Anyway, keep up the good work, can't wait to see the final versions of Gohan and other DB characters!

 One Piece characters are not planned, but I can imagine you'd want to see them get made by us!
 The future promises at least a few more DBZ characters, that series in itself has near endless potential for characters,
 with our skills, an amazing fighter can be made from just about any character in the series!
 Hope you'll have lots of fun with the Z2 chars!

 And yes, the AI is quite agressive, but fight them often and you will be able to break their patterns! Don't give up!

Dragonball Z Characters do have limitless skills and the posibilities are endless. Z2 Style is what gives them a decent new quality really.

Nice characters. Very well done. And the gameplay is very good. I cant wait to play more chars. Dbz or other. I cant wait for a screenpack too. Seriously i show your stuff to a friend. And he love too. He say he prefer pay your stuff than buy all these shity game of these last 10 years sorry for my english. I agree with him. Continu the good job. Idk if this was addressed but with SSJGoku when I use the EX Ki wave on vegeta and he bounces off the wall then RIGHT after I use a Chou K-wave as a follow up, vegeta either disappears or is stuck in his collision grab position midair

There are lots of WinMugen users. İ swapped to 1.0 when it first came out because WinMugen was always closing. Also Balthazar, İ don't know if İ missed it but, any plans for a new voice actor for Goku? New dubs are always enjoyable. Good luck for sure man.
