Spoiler, click to toggle visibiltyTAKE THAT VYX, YOU STINK HARD!New Screen and FontsThe Downs:Support for Old Mugen stuff is limitedKFM looks ugly in Hi-DefSome characters doesn't work. (I tried Luis's stuff and it works. Ibukah's, no go and gave me an CNS error)Screenpacks won't work. (><)Lifebars aren't supported in this one.Vertdict: It's a good engine which was made during Elecbyte's Hiatus but with the limited support, it may cause problems to some users at all. But they still did a good job.Rating: B+ (Since I'm forgiving)
Cyanide said, September 22, 2009, 10:00:13 amFor all you stage creators. This uses something called sffv2, that takes 5 bit, 8 bit or 32 bit sprites. Thats true colour.Characters can do it too, but i'll stick to my .act files. However for stages, win in 92 directions.too bad it lags the same stage by more than half the framerate that winmugenHD can push at 60
Taken off the elecbyte website:QuoteHere's a sampling of features you can find in M.U.G.E.N:-Customizable title screen, character select screen, life and bars, game sound effects, fonts and more.-Characters can have any number of sounds and sprites of any size limited by your computer's memory.-Choose from multiple resolutions, ranging from 320x240 up to full HD at 1920x1080.-Cutscenes.Damn 1920x1080.
Hams Will Get You said, September 22, 2009, 03:07:54 pmSupport for Old Mugen stuff is limitedWhat exactly is limited?QuoteKFM looks ugly in Hi-DefSo did every other non-hi res character. You're confusing the filtered sprites with hi-res.QuoteSome characters doesn't work. (I tried Luis's stuff and it works. Ibukah's, no go and gave me an CNS error)That's bec. of the updated coding. It's an inevitable thing when it comes to programming in general.QuoteScreenpacks won't work. (><)Here's how to make screenpacks work.Code: motif = data/mugen1/system.defSee this code in mugen.cfg? Maybe it has something to do with your problem. Change it to match that path where your screenpack's folder is or just point to data/system.def to use the one on the data folder.QuoteLifebars aren't supported in this one.Same thing with the screenpack problem. The screenpack's system.def uses whatever fight.def it is assigned to.
hm... alsoQuoteTo update a character from 2002.04.14 to 1.0, add 1 to the value of the P1 parameter of all HitDef pausetimes. Then set mugenversion = 1.0 in the player's def file.anyone tried it out? I admit it, i downloaded it and run it at the office, but it doesnt load up,it remains as a black screen.

I can't run it. My specs:PIV 3.06 ghzNvidia Geforce 8600 GT with 256 mb RAM2GB RAMWindows XP Service Pack 3I tried 640x480 and OpenGLScreenIt's run slow as hell and I only see black screen...But I'm so happy because of Elecbyte is back. I hope RC2 will be better for me, and in next few days I recieve Core 2 Duo 7600 so maybe it will change something.
Say, has anyone with WinXP SP3 actually managed to run it ? At least it seems those who can't have that in common.
It's nice to hear that Elecbyte is back and they are planning to develop MUGEN engine again but if some old good stuffs from the previous version is not supported then I can't call it development. Also if this new MUGEN would lag my personal computer then I'll use the old version until bugs are fixed.
Quotebut if some old good stuffs from the previous version is not supported then I can't call it development.Yeah, it's called change.
