That's the most fitting name for a bgm mp3 I've ever seen. *Downloads while listening on e-snips*This ain't bad.

I know that if you use screamers in your M.U.G.E.N. characters, YouTube videos and such..You are not making horror...Screamers are just child's play..If you want horror....You've got to make something that attacks the player/viewer's mind.Screamers aren't the way to go..You have to make where not only does it scare the player/viewer, but it affects them in some psychological way..where they can never forget the event...You have to make a it a frightening and disturbing experince that's unforgettable..You have to shock the player/viewer in way that almost gives them nightmares(just don't push them in the path of suicide..)
Sabre said, January 07, 2010, 05:14:55 amDo I hear a slowed down Cat Purr?Pretty good, I must say.No.That's a slowed heartbeat..I placed that in for special effect..The slowed breathing I placed in actually fits in quite well...Sounds like someone is being chased..
Mr. Luigi1632 very useful information I will implement it in book for when I need it too scare or horrify a certain person I know or anyone inpecticular but thank you Luigi you won't go unrewarded.P.S. Oh....and Heres is your reward you get to be on my list that I am work on I will tell you about it another time but trust me it will be fun when its done
Now what I like about what I did with this song is that it becomes strangely serene at the end of the song..
Pretty cool man. Starts of as horror and around 1:50 to 2:35 I got a city under ruins and full necropolis feel. Really realistic as I am siting in my dark room right now as static black and white images is going through my mind right now. Piano and Cathedral bells are adding in this medivalish feel...and I just achieved goosbumps so yeah pal, you did your job. You should do more it's very nice.
when that small piano-like sound started creeping in....it reminded me of Revolution 9..it was great....
Now this is good. Keep it up. I like how it progresses into a calm piano-like tune after like 5 minutes of chaos and ambience, it fits really well. Good job!
Well I'm pretty good at horror sometimes...You see I try to attack the player/viewer's mindsI don't use screamers...I do put in blood and gore and corpses in to make the player/viewer have a feeling of malaise..,and at that time, you have the player/viewer sorta saying something like "Oh crap, what's going to happen next?"You have to make the player/viewer tense for a little while then..BOOMUnleash your worst horror...But do it slowly....If you use it all up, the effect is gone and the player/viewer is going to be like "is that it?Is that really the best you can do?"But if you bring it in slowly...You might have the player/viewer crapping in their pants...and you have to affect the player/viewer emotionally...For example, in Mother 3 you get to name the twins'(Lucas and Claus) mother in the beginning of the gameSpoiler: major Mother 3 spoilers (click to see content)But she dies in Chapter 1..but then you have the player feeling very sad, even when they continue playing the game, they will feel sad for Lucas, because he lost his mother and his brother(also happens in Chapter 1) and however you see her again in Chapter 6, but it's pretty sad...because the mother is a ghost appearing in a field of sunflowers...Chapter 6 was meant to make you even more sad..however you see her one last time in the final battle against the Masked Man(who is soon to be revealed as Claus, Lucas's brother..BTW..Here's another song I made, but it's more likely better for a character select screen..http://www.esnips.com/doc/2adeff9f-5174-433a-abd1-ff8a560d91ce/Select-Your-Character@MC2:Give me credit at least...
The second half of the song is good, the first is just loud and a little annoying. Pretty distracting.
Well the first part is supposed to sound like a bunch of tortured souls calling for help, but it to no avial..then a some point in the first part is supposed to sound like someone is being chased, then it sounds like someone is breathing inside of a capsule.....in a abandoned area...

Dude, you can try with Resident Evil and Silent Hill music... mixing, adding sounds and things like that.Oh and there is another awesome game with good horror ambient music too: Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth for PS2 and Xbox, maybe you can try to find the soundtrack.
I can tell you're a big silent hill fan, I guess that's where most of your inspiration comes from. I love the music on Silent hill, they have the greatest horror ambience in my opinion. 5:35 and onward on this really do remind me of Gigyas gotta love those arcade like sounds.
I've never played Silent Hill(I've heard of it..), but I understand horror@Paraside:I used "Ashes and Ghost" music track from the Silent Hill 2 OST..I've got a couple of tracks from Resident Evil 4 I can mix up, plus the basement theme from Resident Evil 2.

Do you own a playstation or what?
Yes... a PS2 and a PS3,plus a lot of Nintendo systems.. I just call myself Pyramid Head, because I found the character interesting ..
is it so hard to post a pic. it would just make it so much more exciting instead of making everyone guess and image.

You won't be disappointed.

Use music and effects of Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth game, is a VERY GOOD horror game, trust me
I actually listened to the whole thing while closing my eyes.I imagined myself in an abandoned hospital, where I hear screams, voices of the dead, and still-beating hearts in jars. IN the middle, I'm in a silent TV room where on the left, I hear static, and on the right, I hear White noises (A.K.A: Static screams of the decease that are trapped inside the hospital)Near the end of the song where it becomes peaceful, I imagined the hospital just... disappearing slowly, only to show me a meadow of flowers and grass. But I swear, I am terrified of that abandoned hospital and a tv room. Cause you won't know what's gonna happen.I have to say, Nice job on creating horror to sound Pyramid head.

This one song isn't exactly as good as the other song...http://www.esnips.com/doc/b8f4a2f0-803d-4fc8-a900-60c7791d0f52/FinalBattleAgainstNorokoI made this for Borghi's character from the Blackheart game,Noroko...(Noroko is a faceless demonic spirit after all...)Not exactly as good as the other song, but it's okay...
Hmm... Yeah, you're kind of right."Final battle with Noroko" Doesn't give out a epic feel, more like a Speed fight to a ghost (I listenend to the whole thing, and.... it's not really good. But it's not bad).
This one is better hopefully..http://www.esnips.com/doc/b9e2a8b1-2fa4-4089-99eb-a99b66ead33c/A-Feeling-of-Unease..@Paraside:I used one of the songs from that soundtrack you gave me in this..

In fact, I listened to the whole thing while closing my eyes again. It's pretty simple and short, as I imagined myself in a foggy area where there's a monster hidden inside , and I'm walking to where the monster is. All of a sudden, I stopped and freezed in fear, as I hear screams of the dead in a unknown wind. My heart's beating loudly, as I stood there... frozen in fear.

I don't have Malaise, as that Malaise is a disease starter. But the only thing that comes from my head while listening to the whole thing while closing my eyes, is this:I'm in a living room, all by myself watching my everyday tv. All of a sudden, the TV goes static. Few minutes later, it turns back on, only to show me a lot of disturbing pictures/videos in the TV. Videos of the dead walking to what looks like my apartment, pictures of....... unexplained things, etc... Int he middle, I hear a silent footstep, but no one's there. I continue watching the disturbing thing until.... it turns off by itself. No use of remote, no screamers, no nothing. It turns off by itself.
Malaise means "a feeling of uneasiness"I do find it a little weird you're the only one making any comments..But at least I have someone making some comments on it..

What's your favorite Horror poet mine is Edgar Allen Poe his short story The Black Cat love reading alot.
I don't really read horror books...Although I've seen a couple of movie adaptions...I'm watching a playthrough of Resident Evil 2..(too bad I won't be able to play it until I'm 17/ or 18....3 or 4 more years to go..)Doesn't really seem to scare me too much..It'll probably take playing Silent Hill in order to scare me..But I still find Resident Evil 2 a pretty awesome game..

I have a question for you...What game soundtrack should I use for the next song..After all this time it's YOUR choice for what OST I should use for my next song..

I took the time to listen to this. My feedback is that I honestly can't say anything good about it. Pyramid Head said, January 14, 2010, 04:32:30 amYeah, I'm 14..Ahhh, a middleschooler... That stops me from ranting. Here's some more feedback. If you really want to learn how to compose music, do this:1) look for a qualified musician (one with a music degree or at least in college) to teach you music theory.2) if you can't find a qualified musician, see if your parents can take you to the nearest community college and enroll you in a music theory course.3) after that course, take a sightsinging and ear-training course, then a counterpoint and orchestration course.4) get yourself a copy of Finale and put your newly-acquired skills to the test.5) listen to something NOT from a videogame.Stay in school.
I already take piano lessons...In fact I've taken Piano lessons for 5/ or 6 years..The stuff in this thread is horror music "Music that is meant to input a intense, painful feeling of repugnance and fear in the mind of the listener"Plus, I'm homeschooled
we're starting a video game design/ digital media company here in atlanta,ga and i have to tell ya...i love it.if you can produce/reproduce deliciously evil tracks like that it would go hand in hand with this h.r.geiger-esque artist we're tryin to lock down. pm me and we'll talk if you're interested.
Don't hit yourself too hard there...Congrats on being homeschooled. You're still middleschool age. Some people stay in highschool for 5 or 6 years. Doesn't mean they get better at it.Piano is great for teaching you to coordinate your hands and read two staves simultaneously. If you don't know any theory or counterpoint, you're barely scratching the surface. If you're going to write horror music, why not take the example of the best horror music around? That's why I recommended listening to something other than videogame music. Resident Evil and Silent Hill are NOT the epitome of horror music. Here are some things to consider: Is this supposed to loop, like bgm in a game? Or is this a stand-alone work, telling a story with it's musical development (or lack thereof)? Or did you perhaps score this with a scene from a movie in mind, syncing the music to actions within the scene? Or is this a music-making exercise, in which you highlight a certain musical technique or hardware innovation?

Ah, nice use of Half-Life 1 sounds man (at least in the beggining). And is there a part at the beggining where you used the "Rorr Rarr" idle sound of a zombie?Anyway, this is pretty great stuff. Keep at it.
I don't believe I used sounds from Half-Life in the song..Attention Everyone:I'm going to be on hiatus with the horror music..I'm learning MUGEN code to try to make a character..So I won't be able to make horror music for a while..
It's okay. Take your time on Horror musics. And... you're learning Mugen coding? ........ I seriously need someone to teach me about coding.
Well I'm making a character right now..(The sprites I'm using are being edited, However I'm going to use the same sprites for both characters..however I'll have different attacks for the second one.. all I can say is there will be a good version and a evil version..)
I hear Ashes And Ghost in here...yup I play Silent Hill alot. as far as original Akira would be proud...but it kinda sounds like you were going at an ambience for the piano riff....try metal scraping sounds....I made a song a year ago like Akira's style....looking past Akira's work I have to say good job dude
The next horror will have it whereI strike them with horror and then after a while..put in something serene to put them in a false sense of serenity...then hit them with horror again and there you go..
very faithful to the style Akira himself uses....also reminds me of left 4 dead music too....I made a song inspired by SH3 if you want to hear it....it's in releases older mugen.....it kinda sounded more cybernetic at the end of yer song.good choice though...you should be hired for a game company(Team Silent/Climax studios)props to you dude

you should...you'd probly get hired for your music too...even I think the makers of L4D might even say hop on board...but don't send the one with Ashes and Ghost in it...you could get sued by Akira himself
I willHere's a hint:The good one will be a ghost and the evil one will be a demon.I'll give credit to Akira for making the Ashes and Ghost music track..
It would make me shit my pants if good ol' Pyramid Head became a mugen character...as a joke character have the armless man a.k.a. Trojan Man...he'd still kick Dan Hibiki's ass
PH would hav to be his movie version cuz with that bigass sword he carries movie PH would be a bit faster, have long reach to grab people and his movie sounds
