Like I said hip hop is still alive yet very mus underground
in order to keep is from becoming a distant memory we mus spread the word of new hip hop artists
who remind us of the good old days.
Simply this: Put down new, indie or underground hip hop artists who you think are good and then a couple lines of comments of who they sound like.
Example: Little Brother- sounds like EMPD with smoky jazz and chill r&b beats
Cunninlynguists- De La Souls meets UGK
Keep the faith in hip hop and educate others through your own means 8)

As long as Soulja Boy and Lil' Wayne remain in HipHop, hiphop shall forever be dead to me.

I really like Lupe Fiasco, Gemstones (Gemini), and Ludacris. They happen to be some of the best rappers so far, with none of that mainstream pop shit that seems to be flooding Atlanta.

  • Three times thicker font than a normal user.
I've long since stopped caring about most new mainstream stuff. As Jay-Z said, paraphrased, "You want my old shit, buy my old albums."
Quote
Imagine a zanguief runing to attack ryu, ryu does a quick+kind of weak fast punch and hit the chest of zanguief, will this punch be enough to zanguief say/think \"oh no, this punch hurted a little, I better stop the attack and put my hand on my chest to help contain the pain while ignoring if ryu is going to make other attacks now"

It is the fans and the DJs.. I went to a club couple weeks ago and all they played was down south music.. boosie, soulja boy and gucci..

they only play that music because its music you can dance to

but far as the radio n mainstream.. the government controls it.. why do you think they play the same song over and over.. they want to brainwash us.. and in order to get in mainstream its not bout lyrics anymore its about taking orders from "them"..

woah buddy let's not get hippie tha goverment man the goverment here ;P
it's what sells anf that facts been established numerous times
you dont like the dj's find someone else
look for:
RJD2
Peanut Butter Wolf
Dan The Automator
DJ Premier
Jazzy Jeff
Biz Markie

Some perform alot more than you'd think and some underground dj's have a weekly spot at bars
for instance the phophet bar aka the door in dallas has a hip hop show every wednesday
which is different every showing 8)

if the fans are in fact to blame
be a better one ;D

i can't believe im about to say this, but....i for one. am getting sick and tired of seeing all these hip hop threads popping up. In the end, they all just end up like the rest of them. Someone just make a sticky of a hip hop mega thread and be done with it.
Im back. But no, not really.
