Since this is not properly a cvs style nor a capcom style I opened a new topic, Takuma stance attempt

 

All right, I changed a bit the face and added light effect on wristbands



Now then, i did a new retouched -

At this point you should just open your own graphics topic and post your sprites there, there's no real reason to post your sprites here or in the other themed sprite topics if you're refusing to follow the style of the themes themselves.

Since you didn't read my comment I'll post it here too. This is the third time I'm posting this.

From now on, you'll post your sprites here if you don't comply to the rules of the theme threads.

About that Takuma: He looks fine to me, but I feel as if he's either too wide or too short. I'm more thinking towards the latter.

hello mate, yes indeed i scaled the picture of -15 points for the height and + 6 points for weidth because the purpose was to make him in a sort of kakuge yaro style.

Well, if you want to ask me, you got yourself some CPS-2-like proportions here (you know, SFA stuff). Hell, maybe with proper palette he'll even look the part good. Looks pretty good, BTW, but I think you need some darker picels to emphacise his press (stomache muscles?) on the viewer's right.

The Takuma is alright yes, but I do think that the first 2 versions are a lot better in regards to the shading and design.

My suggestions, please reference your CvS Takuma sprite sheet more closely with what you can, I feel that would help bring in cleaner results as well as bring it closer to that CvS Style if your aiming towards that, but if your also trying to do your own thing that is fine as well

At this rate i would want to try an attempt by editing my cvsTakuma sff, may be i will have more luck. Also i want to repost this Takuma stance from kof95 because i think this was the best stance conversion i ever did -

That looks really good but his feet aren't quite aligned with his legs. Most noticeably his right one (our left).
You can help with Ikemen GO's development by trying out the latest development build and reporting any bugs on GitHub.

Jhun hoon from kof99 stance attempt - original   my edit 

what i have done - palette colors shading dropped from 5 to 3 shades for skin and clothes and hair as well, ratio of shoes and face increased.

Interesting.
But to me this is still very KOF-ish with different palette and small edits.
I'm not sure this is close to CVS work.

Have a look at Dampir's take at Krauser. It(s not perfection, but it still looks more CVS.

Sure we all dream of a script / automatised method to convert KOF sprites into CVS, but the truth usually the result lacks something and looks too much KOF like

If it's just for scalling you should try "Rotsprite"
Initially made for rotation. It can also scale sprites without blurry stuff or big pixels.

BUT you have to work manually after it.

I personnally don't focus on character s who have already a good CVS spriteset (usually by Dampir)

I think other characters need it : Jhun Hoon, Hwa Jai, Hinako... I wish such characters can look as CVS as Kim Kaphwan, Joe, Athena...

I made a pretty good attempt with June hoon then i dealed with other chars but not continuosly i lookedover mugen and lately.

Initially, Jhun Hoon kof sprites are made with Kim's sprites.
So, I think CVS Jhun Hoon should be as close as Kim's sprites (in term of style etc...)

personally, I don't think its a problem finding methods to make the initial spriting faster, but I really think you should spend some time to clean each sprite and give it that "je ne sais quoi" that ive seen from you before

Hello fella, yes it is still raw but the overall result is pretty decent IMO, may be hair needs to be retouched and some lil things for it's pants.

Now then, I retouched a bit pants and hair and updated the armor shading -

It seems passable, but the armor is currently rather unpleasant with just 2 colours, but I think it would be improved if you add some sort of outline to it which I think is the most jarring omission.

This last looks very good, he looks to combine real bout version and kof sprite, i did something similar by editing some dampir sprites.

You're really not going to make it feel like a CvS sprite through palette changes alone. You'll have to reshade his entire body in order for it to feel legit. Right now this just looks like a compressed KOF sprite.

That needs so much work that I don't even know where to start.

Maybe you should make the proportions look better at the least; make his legs longer or something?

Some things I noticed:

Krauser could use some extra detail in the muscles. and Mr Big could use some extra detailing in his coat

otherwise they look quite decent. I really dig Kensou and Takuma

The sprites are good, I just think they could use more in between colors for a smoother shading, and the palettes also could be better. Other than that, good job! :thumbsup:

All right then, I just done this one for ralf the win pose in "similar" cvs style -

You seem to be on the right track, but the problem with your Ralf is that:
A. The lack of contrast between the lighter and darker color of his shirt and bottoms.
B. You're using the darker jacket color for the outline of his bottoms, which results in the outline being distractingly black.

Is it okay if I show you an example of what it'll look like with changes to these?

If i have to be honest Demongorne, you should reference takuma on how you did your takuma sprites. It was absolutely perfect and i feel if you want to keep improving on your cvs2 spritework, you should try to reference CvS2 sprites and other artists cvs2 spritework in general. I know you have a lot of potential but i feel you are holding yourself back by being too limited with colors.

Demongorne, it seems you didn't understand what I told you in the past. Either you try to sprite in CvS style, or you post these 'not-CvS' sprites in your topic (that I made exactly for this reason). I told you this, remember? Now I'll move your posts, together with the others'.

if you want to do a CVS style sprite, that's not really the way to go, I have to learn that CVS style has a different lightning, anatomy and colors from the KOF sprites, so trace and reshade them its not really a good CVS conversion.
