tried the beta, saw the video. i really liked that palette selection sfuff and the network support possibility...i hope the guy will have luck in this, good luck!  ;D

I'm glad I could bring this news to you guys. And what's really cool is that ShugenDo lets you have control over almost everything. Graphics in the menu's, coding, etc.

why each coder doesn't take part at the same 'alternative/better mugen' project instead of making 2000 different versions?  :S

there's a simple reason for that: disagreement about several aspects. I, for one, completely disagree with the "first make it work with mugen chars, then make it better than mugen" concept. New triggers & sctrls != innovation. And that's why I've never participated in any mugen clone project :P

Woha i was just 3 houers away and then this.
Ok i released ShugenDo.
Over 2 Years i was trying to create this in a team with other people as OpenMugen.
I also asked every mugen clone author here and nobody wants to work in a team so i decided
also to work on my own.( also Sofiya )

I don't want a discussion about Infcat is bad and ShugenDo is good or vice verser.
Or some thing like that.

Here are the features of shugendo

New ScreenPack system which is based on xml files.you should take a look at the "screen packs" folder.
Unicode true type font rendering.
3D Accelerated
ShugenDo always render in righrez like mode 4 in mugen
Also it has a mixed mode which combines native high rez with low rez filterling like scale2x
ShugenDo has a cns syntax error reporting.
ShugenDo will also support compiled cns files( currently it compile the cns file but do not save them )
Multiplatform Compatible( currently Windows and linux PS3 and PSP version in the works)

I would be happy about when people test this version and their chars with it and make some bug reports.


This is the mixed mode( currently only in the OpenGl renderer )

Alright. I'll start playtesting as soon as I get home, in about 6 days.  :sugoi:
DOS Chars Ok?

PS: Try to be a bit more respectful towards InfinityCat. When you both go Open Source, I think differences will get solved by themselves.

EDIT: After seeing the video, I can tell that this is the selection screen I've dreamt of, with Stance display and Palette selection. It might be worth mentioning that there are many frames when the palette in Evil Ryu is not applied to the SFF, though, and that making a video with an actual stage might look a bit better. :P

InfCat will be better. This is good. I just like Infcat better.

If i were you i would withhold judgement until they were both finished. Infinitycat's forum isn't precisely private, Sakir could go in and use a large number of the ideas in there.

They both have different methods is all that's happening. Sofiya is adding new stuff and correcting engine bugs as work progresses. Sakir is going for 100% compatability first with only minor additions.

It DOES look good for now, expecially for character compatibility (for what I've seen in the video), but it slows down my pc as hell when I run it.  o_O

So that's your computer's fault :( it works fine for me.

Trust me, when a 2.4ghz Pentium with 1024 mb ram and a GeForce 6000 can run 3D games with no slowdown and it slows down with an unfinished 2d application, it's NOT its fault.

Hmmm which version of ShugenDo slow your PC down the Software Render(ShugenDoSw.exe) version or the normal version which use D3D?

The D3D version runs quite good even on an Radeon 9500
The only possible slow dow is the SW rendere of ShugenDo or the logfile because its write each messge to the file directly.

But when you close it, doing this maybe?

:P Amazingly enough, if I use the exit option or the Escape key instead of doing that, I get less memory consumption when leaving Mugen programs. Yep, ShugenDO too.
But anyway, my PC keeps taking its little time to stabilize after that.

By pressing that X button on the window you force the programm to shoutdown and it  has no chance
to delallocate all it resource the normal way.
Good that windows allows us to disable this X button :D
