Seriously, the only thing left is backgrounds. Everything else was ripped already.

Could you send me the links? Since the main char of Exile doesn't does too much things, I will use some elements from its game.

@DJ Track:

Goku will be in, dunno about the other ones. From the Bad guys, Broli or Buu (maybe both)

Samus Aran: on my plans since beginning
Battletoads: I want to add, but won't it be too comic?
İronman: I will use Avenger's version. That version is very small.
Megaman Zero: Some megaman chars will be in, for sure.

First, Happy New Year to everyone.

Second, in 2014 we (me and Zvitor) plan to release a new version of this game, with some cool additions.
One char that people requested to me, over and over (just loses to Sonic and Mario) is Goku. The the problem, always, was the size and I never found a good sized Goku to use on the game, with good animation.

Then my friend Omega shows me this Goku, from the PSX game  Dragon Ball Z: Idainaru Dragon Ball Densetsu which have an almost perfect size:


I will downsize Goku to 95% by code, so the details aren't lost on the process.

About Sonic...well, I always was AGAINST him, because his cartoon nature. But this question was in my head since the first day: if I have Sonic enemies, why I can't have Sonic himself? Judging by the size, Sonic won't be a problem, since he is not a human (and seeing him in action in Capcom vs The World makes me wonder). Mario, for example, would be totally out of question.

So, what do you think? Would be Sonic a good addition?

But I would stop there, with only Sonic. No other super deformed char. (Maybe TwinBee)

Yeah Alex is a great sprite ripper indeed. That was and still is one of my favorite games. I suggested it to O Ilusionista since we were talking about a Goku that could fit in game. That game has great characters.

You should alsom gor for Sonic like i said before. He is a needed character definitly and he could be great with this game's gameplay.

A quick question: YES or NO to those Megaman bosses (and Mega Man per se)?

(the fox is just for size comparsion)

I was really avoiding non-standard sized chars, like SD chars, but Megaman (specially the classic serie) IS wall smaller than a normal char, so I don't see a problem with that. The same will work for Sonic: I can't make Sonic as tall as Batman.

i did not like the regular lifebars. i would've gone for low lifebars like in that kirby project o ilusionista also worked on. i think it makes more sense in this small character context. that way they can freely go up without the lifebars getting in the way of the action.

My response in parts, I do love the idea of megaman bosses but you should put up a poll for which ones. I see it as a love letter to games in that era so if you like to, add as many as you want. My second response is the idea of yes to putting the life bars on the bottom for extension sake. To get those big fighters without obscuring anything.

Yes, I will move the lifebars to the bottom, so we will have more room to fight.

Dart Vader stage udpated for Battle Stormer Clasics game.
Now it has animations :)

The stage will be modified when I change the lifebar position.

While I don't consider myself a spriter, I liked the result of the idle animation I did for Alisia


Any feedback is welcome.

Since AGES (6 years ago), Alisia received a color separation made by Rukifellth and it's about time to include it on the game

Some news about the game.

==== MECHANICS ====
One of the things I've changed on this project is that now it works only as a boss rush. This means no more Versus, team versus or Survivor matches. Now there is only Arcade, Team Arcade and Team Co-op.

With this, you don't even face the playable characters anymore - only the bosses. This gives me more freedom to code the bosses and gives me less work. The game never were planned to work as a normal mugen anyway.

==== LIFEBARS ====

New lifebars were made by Exelord  (WIP).


And them were moved to the bottom area, as many feedback had suggested. This gives more room to the fight itself.

==== NEW PLAYABLE CHARACTERS ====
- Red Ranger
- Tyris (Golden Axe)
- Foot Soldier (TMNT)
And some others I want to code, like the protagonist of SkyBlazer.

I will try to update it until december.

I've found some original made sprites of Ryu Hayabusa which fits the project perfectly:

ExeLord helped me (again) in editing some hit sprites, so Hayabusa will be joining the game.

Since I am more a Sega guy, I never played the original game too much. So, if anyone wants to contribute with ideas for him (specially about the magic/ninja skills), go ahead.

What I have in mind for him:
A- Sword attack
B- Magic select (from a menu, like Fang)
C- Magic use

Skills:
- Wall climb
- Attack grom wall climb

Magics:
• "Windmill Throwing Stars" which move back and forth like boomerangs,
• "Fire Dragon Balls" which launch fireballs downward at an angle,
• "Fire Wheel Art" which launches fireballs upward at an angle,
• "Invincible Fire Wheel" that forms a series of rotating of fireballs around Ryu
• "Vacuum Wave Art" which hurls vacuum blades above and below Ryu simultaneously.

A little more progress with this game:



• Game HUD is almost done. I am still testing some sizes and positions.
• The play area looks cleaner than before, with more free room to play. I decided to not use a super jump camera, to avoid make the screen to move.
• Batman's stage were remade. Now you start in the center of the playfield, the back alley has a cool delta (split in many parts, to give a depth feeling) and some new animations.

I will need to edit every stage on the game, to move the camera upward to open room for the new HUD. But I managed to find a trick where I just need to change one value and it is done (with few exceptions).

RISE FROM THE GRAVE

Starting today, we will be having a Battle Stormer Classics week, with the game been released next Saturday, September 25th!
I will update this game now because I will work on a new version, with a different name and more characters
