4Chan was created because Moot and others were posting NSFW everywhere (outside the SomethingAwful NSFW forum) so NSFW content was banned completely on SomethingAwful.
So Moot created his own SomethingAwful with Blackjack and NSFW called 4Chan.

Yes, the anime tiddies sub-forum is the only reason why 4Chan was created. Everything else was a afterthough.
But wait!! We haven't made the Suave Dude character yet!!

I click the link and read the post by his (ex wife?) jeezus what a troubled folks... I honestly never visit that site nor 4chan, so I dunno who this man is... but hopefully he finds peace or at least finds solace in the next realm.
