I was absent for a long while (mainly modding Skyrim) but got time to continue this project left on dust.retook from july, the primary goal is to upscale the Digimon Battle Spirit Renamon to standart size.As posted in a lost post, the project is also a merge from GearFighterZeta and Tsunamidusher own versions.:I will also redo C.V.S abstract Gouken to be closer to the CVS standart. (also get myself a tablet to not be stuck on MS paint.)
It's good to see you return. Your sprite work is very impressive. I thought you already did a great job with refining Gouken, though maybe his scale is too big? At any rate, good luck, and I look forward to progress on Renamon and Gouken.
Yes, the old Gouken was to big, (some animations where at divergent scales) so I will redo it more in line with the CVS scale.my current intent is.: C.V.S Abstract Original edit V2 V3 Closer to CVSI welcome to feedback. (Anything one may find to improve, etc)redid a bit some of the Renamon frames, but with a good result, might fix some parts of the tail animation.:Going to move to gethits, stun, minor transitions and post the progress here.

The face is such a big improvement. It already was in your first version but it looks so much better now.

But otherwise your doing an amazing job!Yes, there is this weird effect. initially I wanted to give a "ninja" run foward by using Guy as a reference, but the result was weird.I will make some adjust to if I manage to remove the strutting effect from the run movement.revised some Renamon frames. added some minor missing. post later the end result.
Man, that is some awesome refining done to Gouken. Especially with the face I agree. Great work. I said before Idk much about Digimon, but Renamon is looking really great as well. Keep up the good work.
Just my feedback, but the tail for the walking back and running is odd looking, like its not looped correctly but that's just my opinion. Love the Gokuen you are working on too!
Your update is really awesome! This work of pixel art is really fitting the CVS style.I would have not "flatten" his shoulder this way. I prefered when it was "rounder". It looked better to me.But other elements are just perfect!

But otherwise your doing an amazing job! Thanks, I did try to redo three times, but I'm still stuck/not satisfied with the result, so I promise you I'm going to correct it later. almost four months of progress and almost all of the basic part is done (spritesheet below), missing only taunt, intro, mirror match, charge and lose.the rest I could just go and use tsunamidusher and Gearfighter zeta base for basic, ex and supers, but I do consider to be correct to relearn the fundaments of fighting games, watch the show and also play some Digimon retro games (Rumble arena, etc) to have a Ideia on how/more or less her moveset should be. (should take between 3 to 4 months to complete, maybe less if doing only the essential)I'm giving more priority on relearning pixel art than coding, althought I don't discart the possibility of coding myself, for now.. I think it's better to reuse this tread to also post Gouken progress than create a new one. sorry for the bad english.
Renamon basic state. (including all the basics, but not the extras) is almost done, going to move back on CVS Gouken later, sneak peak.:
My goodness, that new Gouken looks incredible. And I already thought your previous Gouken looked pretty good.
I usually don't click this thread, because of the Digimon name.I'm not from Pokemon and Digimon generation... Older But Your Gouken update is still very impressive.

Been silently following this, but I agree with everyone else. Both of these projects are looking fantastic!I hope they'll be put to good use, at least Infinite should update his Gouken with these sprites when the time comes.

Run animation redone.: (one of the reasons I wanted to redo him, was due to weird alignment/proportion from move to moves.) this will be visible, once I display the diferrence between the walk foward to the walkback anim.also some moves converted from gba.:

These are really nice, Ben Hazard. I cannot wait to see the many improvements you've bestowed upon Renamon.Do you already have her move set figured out? Wanted to see if I could provide a few move ideas that could be useful to her.
Here is a exemple of the problem with the old Gouken, in particular, many of his old animations would not align, having weird porpotions to key parts of his character, example.:Old.: New.:
Been following this thread for a while and gotta say congrats on the progress you have been remaking Gouken so far. Curious tho, do you plan to add the SF4 attacks that are missing from Gouken?
Yes, usually idle stance, walks and similar animations can be had to make "stable" or something. What you did is great.Good luck.I can't wait to see the next moves...Seems the process is very long. Hope the other sprites will need less fixing. What is your method/software for animation checking when editing? Just photoshop? Also, perhaps, you could rename your thread since you show more different sprites now ?

Hit look amazing! Scratch that everything looks amazing lolDefinitely hope someone make good use of those sprites
Indeed. All of this is top notch stuff! Are you making that Hit for someone to code? I hope whoever it is does them justice. With Renamon as well. Excellent work.

Excellent work! Leave it to talented creators like you to continue the naomi-era sprite style that capcom abandoned too soon.If it's ok to ask, are you fine with how the sprites currently animate? You don't see the need to add in-between frames on some of gouken's moves?
