What's with the new threads?

He's supposed to be dressed more casually to reflect him becoming more focused on capturing the subjects. He's relinquished his CEO position to Fray so that he can lead the Collection Agency himself. Plus, he needed a sprite update, so if I'm going through the trouble to give him new sprites, I wanted to update his look too. It's no fun making an entirely new set of sprites for the exact same design. That's why Fray and Bloodtide got new outfits when I remade their sprites, aside from the storyline reasons that is.

Double post to notify everyone that I added a new character to the first post.

Also, keep in mind these are all possible new characters. I may end up putting 10 or 12 characters here, but only end up making 6 of them for the new game. I'm posting them here for opinions and such.

^well in that case don't take out elle, she's my favorite out of all the new characters you've shown. also have you considered  maybe making a poll to see which characters people like from your new roster :sugoi:

Gospel may be a little hurtful to religious types.

Well, no offense, but I'm not really concerned about that honestly. Every religion has its extremists, and she's one of them. She's not meant to represent all Christians or my opinion of them.

Gospel may be a little hurtful to religious types.

5.
a doctrine regarded as of prime importance: political gospel.

You seriously need to think before posting.

He's probably more referring to her back story and the fact that she's a villain who is a religious zealot, especially since I referred specifically to Christianity. Like I said though, no offense intended, she's just one character, not representative.

If they get butthurt about then they must know someone who is like that or IS like that. You know how denial works, it's like calling a closet homo gay and he gets mad about it lol. Essentially there's nothing wrong with this design, it works.

Well, Elle, Afterimage, and Castle are definitely going to be in. Elle is essential to a part of the story. She's after The Specialist, which causes him to abandon his position as leader of the Collection Agency, which in turn leads to Moses Maddigan relinquishing his CEO position and personally leading the Agency. That's why he has a new outfit and everything. With Castle, I just like his design too much, and the game needs a big guy. Afterimage is a character that's been in the works for a while now, and was intended to be in SHADEs 2.5 with Dark Nation, but that's probably not happening now, so he'll at least be in SHADEs 3. Everyone else is a toss up.

Not sure about a poll, if I end up feeling obligated to do a character, it becomes something like work. Then it's not as much fun anymore. Which reminds me, I need to get started on at least one of those poll winners for CvtW pretty soon. If I could just get started on Axel, he will be the easiest one. Argh, motivation.

I actually think the design and the backstory are really cool and I'd love to see her in the game.

Also nothing about the character is demonizing Christianity at all.  At least no more than Byrne's design demonizes anarchy.  She's a villain with religion as part of her backstory, she's no worse than Goenitz at all.

Can't really blame him. You can rarely see Christianity or fictional religions based on it being used in a positive light in media. Either it's people are extremists or it's a disguised evil cult.

It's not negative portrayal of the religion itself, but the way the person handles or preaches it.  And sadly it is in fact rooted in reality.  Look at the Westboroh Baptist Church and similar groups.

Posted another character in the first post, Agent Gant from Bloodtide's SHADEs 2 ending. He also appears unnamed in her SHADEs 1 ending.

Just from a description of Gant, he seems like he would be played a lot like an explosives based version of The Specialist. He just doesn't seem like he would really be that interesting of a character to me. I mean, he makes a good background character, but I can't really see him as a front-line fighter. I say have him take a more active role in Bloodtide's story, not in the arena.

Well the 3 confirmed are my favorites. I like Relay a bit but Gospel it would depend on her moveset and what she might bring to the game. If she's just the everyday character that just has utility (Y'know, projectile, rush attack, AA, command grab, etc.) then I don't know if I'm all over it, if her moveset introduced some good, extreme gimmicks that causes for unique strategies and makes fighting her FUN then sure. I'm not a big fan of Gant either, I don't know if I want another character like him in the game. He seems extremely similar to the other badasses like the Specialist, Zenith, Laurel and such. I think you should go for something more off-the-wall for the next characters, like a giant character like Sentinel (I do mean huge. Not a realistic kind of huge.), or a pint-sized character similar to Amaterasu, something crazy.

That's just me talking though.

I was actually just telling a friend that I probably won't do bonus characters for SHADEs 2 or 3, just because I think the characters can stand on their own now. That does remind me that Tristan is the only older character of mine that hasn't gotten a code and sprite overhaul. I should probably do that.

Hmmm, no love for Gant. I just wanted to include him because I thought it would be cool to have him appear in endings two games in a row and then become playable, but I understand where you're coming from. I'll probably just keep him as a background character, though I haven't completely decided yet. I will be honest though, I don't have any plans for any huge/tiny characters. Castle will be large, but no bigger than say, Maxima from KoF. I just like to keep things a bit grounded, as I think that at this point in the series, an abnormally large or small character wouldn't really fit in.
