Thoughts?I've never been a big starwars nerd or fan but I did watch all of the movies and animated ones except for the new ones and fairly knowledgeable about the franchise and recently reading about the EU, and I still think the prequels were fine even better than the original. played the hell out of jedi academy even started a multiplayer fad in my school.I wasn't very into the jedi , didn't like the idea of laser sword magicians, i liked the prequels better cause they featured some world building and other non-jedi characters and races. the new trilogy i only watched the 1st one and rogue one. didn't like the 1st one cause it's all focusing on the jedis again , plus it's just a rehash of the originals with little change here and there.mandalorian is perfect for me , we can see what the star wars universe is not focused on the jedi or sith with their very cultish and mysticism ways and more of a normal everyday person trying to get by. and i think this is the 1st time i saw starwars currencies. and they've got the disintegration rifle from the games.still not sure whether to buy disney+ if when it's available in my country, i'd settle for a physical copy of the show and i'm guessing it'll have bonus features. it's seems like a show that you'd rewatch from time to time and it's short same as your average anime. so that's good.
I'm actually thinking of passing it just like Maleficent Mistress Of Evil and Terminator Dark Fate which I've categorized as needless sequels. I did watch Young Han Solo though but that's because I was conveniently dragged along by someone but I think it was good. If its that good I might just watch it.地獄の花 said, November 24, 2019, 02:04:25 pmmandalorian is perfect for me , we can see what the star wars universe is not focused on the jedi or sith with their very cultish and mysticism ways and more of a normal everyday person trying to get by. and i think this is the 1st time i saw starwars currencies. The Christmas special did had VR porn and live streaming something ahead of its time.
reminds of that evangelion cd that had porn on it.anyway i like that the show is very anime , reminds me of michiko to hacchin.
So far I have not been a fan of any of the post-Disney star wars material...Until the Mandalorean.Sure it's just Lone wolf and Cub ....in....Spaaaaaace! But that doesn't mean its not awesome. In fact all the best Star Wars stuff is just ripped off of a Samurai flicks.Hopefully Disney smartens the fuck up and gives Favrou and Filoni more control over the Star Wars brand going forward. More Space westerns and less SuBvErTiNg ExPeCtAtIoNs please and thanks.
episode 4 sucks ... i know a break from all the action would've the proper choice but why a cliche episode?
I thought it was perfect in setting the tone for how Mando interacts with people who want to help him live a normal life: he rejects it. It's a nice, soft episode that's more slow-paced and is alot more about Mando's morals.
we already got that in episode 2. which portrayed way better.still a cliche episode with generic badguyz harassing a prawn farmers it's basically an anime filler episode ... , not to mention gina's character is meh. they even had a training montage like seriously why would a tall basically a moving sentry tower would move close to it's target? it's already had a vantage point , would've been better if they trapped it inside the forest.i don't mind less action to be honest this episode would've been alot better without the action scenes. or a twist like the farmers are actually the bandits and they just want their walker back or something it feels like a generic show.
I like it, I know disney trapped me by cute baby yoda, and cool armors worn by the Mandalorians, can't wait to see clearer how the others look I bet they would cashing on toys like ironman armors, apart form that I like this series better than the new main arc.
Season Finale Came out.Pretty solid overall, some fantastic visual direction on some scenes helped alot, especially towards the end, which was pretty haunting to see.

I did not expect to see that black (spoiler) at the end, I figured it would be stuck in cartoon world forever. I guess they're going to make more references to either Rebels or Clone Wars in S2 ? There's so much work with all the Mandalore background that's gonna need to be added now, the exact sort of things they wouldn't even try in the movies because there's no way they'll waste time explaining everything that happened in the cartoons.
I love how this season is expanding more and more the environment and the relationships of Din Djarin's character, getting closer to the best of the SW universe. Without leaving aside that beautiful western feeling.
When they namedrop so many extended universe non-movies characters, I wonder if it's because this is setting up future seasons of the Mandalorian, or if it's setting up future rumored series, like those for Boba, Kenobi, or Asohka. Bo looking for the Dark Saber (we know Gideon does have a darksaber vs lightsaber battle this season), Thrawn's return from the outer rim probably with Ezra not too far, the setting up of clones and most likely whatshisface the fakeout big villain from the sequel trilogy, etc. It's good, but which series will have them in live action ?
I haven't quite enjoyed this season as much as the first, outside of the first episode, because of a larger interest in tying itself to Clone WarsAnd let's say when they hit the credits on this one and the writer's name came up, then the director's name came up and they were the same name I was thoroughly unsurprised
I'm noticing a real trend, Bill Burr in an episode of The Mandalorian means it's the best episode that season
The Ahsoka and the Fett episodes were some bangers too (the Fett one was well done but pretty straight forward with basically one long fight scene), but yeah, this one was on another level on script and directing.
The face was fine but somehow the outline made it look weirdly photoshopped ? Which is weird since it would all be on a green screen anyway. Well, not with their new tech of projecting everything around the actual actor, so maybe they coudn't do that for that one actor and still had to photoshop him in ? There's a credit for the stunt and a credit for...what, the voice or the face ? Did he actually manage to make that voice ?No idea what they're going to do with that Book of Boba Fett. The "dangerous underground noir" thing they wanted to do a few years back before all this is probably going to be this Andor show that had a logo reveal at the Disney investor day, so what will they give Boba Fett, something brand new ? What about ?Oh yeah, and I cracked up at the low key floppotron / dubstep Empire theme when the Dark Troopers were powering up.
I REALLY didnt like the surprise at the end. It felt cheap and totally took the sails from the main cast. I really just didn't like how they had to resort to using *that* as the way to resolve things. It swept up the tension built from the previously set up narrative issue all for fanservice. Meh.Everything else was great and that post credits scene was a nice touch.
That "surprise" was expected since two episodes ago, and it was one of the more obvious guesses. As for tension, they already beat Gideon, the darksaber problem is only put on hold but it's still there, and all it resolved was the Dark Troopers situation. Personally I feel that last one, the whole scene, was well deserved. It was about time we saw that (with the obvious comparison to Rogue One). The only issue I have is how he got there so fast when everyone else had to find those super secret coordinates.
Count me as not a fan, could not want that scene to end fast enoughByakko said, December 18, 2020, 03:56:24 pmThe face was fine but somehow the outline made it look weirdly photoshopped ? I read that it was the actual de-aging tech (not the Tarkin/Leia CGI) with minor voice manipulation, so it really was all him right there on set. That probably explains the random recent pictures of him freshly shaved as opposed to the beard he's been sporting this last decade or so. Probably also explains the nose, I thought that was a weird CGI artifact, it looks so weird (then again they didn't use his most flattering angle, right up his face from the crooked side, bad choice)After the december / Christmas confusion, some people were wondering if Boba was going to be Mando S3. Favreau gave an interview confirming Boba for early december and Mando S3 for Christmas, so Boba will probably just get like 2 to 4 episodes. Apparently Pedor Pascal will show up in multiple (all ?) of the Mando spin-offs, like Ahsoka and I guess Rangers of the New Republic (most likely in Boba's Book too), and there are rumors this will eventually lead to some Avengers/Defenders-like team-up. Thrawn will definitely be involved in that. Luke will also show up more, but probably not in any central role, just a cameo here and there I guess.
