[PREVIEW][DOWNLOAD]Ruins[COMMENT]Sup guys? Here's an original stage inspired by Contra, Gundam and maybe even Terminator. Used sprites ripped by Maxim and Davias. I also borrowed from Yagoshi300. I liked what he did with the sunset on his stage. It has superjump, looped bgm, and zoom. Also...next video I'm gonna use non-marvel characters. Done. Those hyper bg's blocked everything! I wasn't sure about the lens flare at first...but once I coded it just right, it completed the atmosphere. I'm gonna try to do more stages in a similar style. Little by little I'm stepping my game up. Our homie GLB would probably like this one as well...
Stage looks cool, definitely digging the feel of it. There are a few things that bug me though:-The sun glare looks nice, but when the buildings move in front of it, the glare should go away. I'm not sure if this is even possible with the way this stage is set up, but check out Tatsu's ayutaya and ayutaya-blue for a similar effect.-The "ruins" sprites could use some cleanup. I noticed a few pink and green dots along the edges.-IMO the camera moves way too much when jumping. My personal rule of thumb is to set the vertical follow and floor tension so that a normal jump won't move the camera up at all, but a high/super jump will.-The characters seem a bit too low. I'm guessing it's because of the size of the floor sprite, but bottom-screen power bars obscure the fighters.-Speaking of the floor, that thing is primed for some parallax action, and the red lights could use some glowing animation to make it pop.

I actually thought the glare passes through objects, although that might depend on the person's perspective. Man, I thought I cleaned up the sprites. I knew it was a few spots left...I agree about the camera. Usually I follow the same rule. I kinda knew that floor was low, but it kinda helps the camera follow the characters. And the parallax floor...OK you got me. That was just me being lazy. My bad. Hopefully I'll update this soon...
Apart from the glare disappearing that Davis pointed out, you could add more shadows and darken the farthermost buildings as the sun would cast a fairly prominent shadow and that particular area would receive no sunlight.

I think I found the next stage to showcase Kyosuke and Karin cuz I'll be releasing my fullgame project soon and this stage will be the perfect stage for the release celebration! Badass song to go with it too. Badass to the core. Bravo!
