It's an ArcSys game I'm actually interested in!
It's based on a cellphone RPG. That is very popular in Japan.

I have no connection to this series. At most I only really learned of it, like, 2 weeks ago when Smash Ultimate leakers said one of the women from this series was going to be DLC, and while this trailer does nothing for me personally beyond checking off the list of cookie cutter characters, it is neat to see more strange choices from Arc Sys for new fighting games. Personally I was leaning for something in another direction, maybe Transformers or something, but this is fine for its fans I guess.
I don't know why that whip lady makes me irrationally annoyed that whips don't work that way, when everything everyone is doing is fantastical, but it does.

And apparently that's exactly what the whole game is - slower speed than usual, simple combos that aren't the center of the gameplay, one button for all specials... But still enough system content that fighter fans will enjoy it. But this one takes the cake as far as cryptic "prepare for a gaming revolution" hints go :

so they say they will have it cater toward beginners but have it enjoyable also to experienced fighting game players. Is it safe for me to take a Normal Style and Technical Style mechanic implement w/ a grain of salt right now?

No, they're saying the inputs will be easy but there will be enough system tricks for experienced players to have fun. But those systems won't involve heavy combos and juggles.

Aaah I do hope they have a plan to put it in the game or do touch a single thought of it. the idea of just one attack button is kinda anxious to me not counting the supers/specials

No, it's one button for all specials (probably with directions inputs). Doujin games use that system often, and recently DBFZ did something a bit similar.

Codes have been sent out for those that have applied for the closed beta.
According to the guide (https://versus.granbluefantasy.jp/sp/en/closedbeta/playguide/rules/) there's simple Smash bros commands, but if you do the traditional commands the skill cooldown will be shorter.
