99% complete. Only for Mugen 1.0, as I've used AIlevel and some other stuff.

About 2-3 fall anims and mechanics from Groove on Fight are not implemented here due redundancy. Certain things like getpower, damage, and pausetimes are my preference. Everything else plays the same.

Movelist included.

whoa, didn't expect this. i was always was fond of how literally every single attack he has is a reference to something occult-related

there's also the saturn version of the game which i assume has cleaner voices than the rather shoddy emulation mame provides....was always curious about that. i'll see what's available i suppose

Hahaha, sorry man. You know me... whenever the link is invalid means I'm reuploading..

An update for his "rings" move (DF+a/b/c, statedef 1401)... The hitdef attr is fixed to A, SP instead of S, SP.

Link updated on first post too.

The reason I give a direct link to him is because some people have complained about the folder being too cluttered or are having problems with the downloads.

There is still a bug with the helper's hitoverride timer. It usually works... but occasionally it fails and another Bristol sprite pops out.

well aside from minimal sounds (which yeah you already explained) this seems to play close to groove on fight to where it's recognizable, but there's some debug messages on the throw and d, f, B. otherwise this is lookin' pretty good judging by some quick testing

The shoddy emulation MAME provides is actually accurate. GOF does, indeed, sound that lo-fi because of what it's on.
Only devs to have taken advantage of ST-V audio were Sunsoft and Midway, the latter being for (ugh) Batman & Robin. Even Sega themselves choked on their own product.

Played with him a bit and everything checks out fine so far. I really do hope someone scrounges up a soundpack for him since it feels wrong having a Bristol D without that great laugh he has.

Also a bit of a personal gripe, that default color. Bleh.  (and yes I know it's only 90%, that's why I said it's a personal gripe)

Done. I sent you Bristol voices to your mail, I am not a Bristo D player and i dont remember wich voice is for each attack, I couldn't understand what the hell he is saying either so, the files doesn't have the names but I hope this help you. I am glad to see that somebody take the time to work in this great character!

Fixed the link. I just did some of the voices, which were sent to me thanks to user Saizo Hattori

There are 2 incorrect voices. The first is DF+kick (ring move). Second is DB+punch (uppercut). Those were the sounds I had, so I just used them for now.

*A voice is also lacking for the second phase of his c+z move, when he uses the lightning.

The common sounds are still missing. I mean the eagle screeching, devil shrieking/grunting, horse grunting, cat meowing, panther shouting(?), zombies moaning, bees buzzing, the sound when the female devil sucks the life out of you etc.

It's updated again to fix a small issue... sorry about it. The sound is hella soft though..

Future updates will fix sound effects (if ppl send them to me), and hitoverrides.

1. Added almost all sounds/voices. Only left 4 sounds (2 voice 2 effects) which will be hopefully sent tomorrow.
2. Flies now fly away from enemy after sticking on them for awhile.
3. ctrlset added to taunt (statedef 195) so he can move any time during the taunt.
4. Added a custom sound to taunt. In the game there was no sound at all which was weird.
5. Fixed some helper hitoverrides, pausetimes, and attrs.
6. Fixed spammability of fairy fireballs.
7. Implemented interim state for fairy helper (thanks to Cyanide), so that the combos work properly.
8. Changed speeds of fairy helpers slightly. They're still slightly not accurate.

i actually tried doing that myself...for some reason the .sff isn't set up so that it's palletable, the actual 'palette' is just in the small portrait and nothing else

What I did was use the sprites from the author, redo their color map etc for individual sprites, then add them to the sff.

You should try the edits and addon section, there iare a few paletters active right now, my advice would be goodaldo, he is good a making palettes and has helped me a lot before, don't know if he is taking request right now but you can always ask or leave a message on his thread.

What you need to do is extract all the sprites, and index them. By that, you set it to 256 color max palette, and make sure the same palette applies to EVERY sprite.

But are there truly grown men in this world?!

Hmm oh that's the thing. The same palette cannot be applied to all the sprites here. There's even one sprite (the uppercut demon) that I colored entirely myself, because the original was reddish-orange in color. I've no idea man.

On another note:
Minor update 23/7/2012:

1. His super can be performed with all 3 buttons a/b/c.
2. Made the super voice slightly clearer, with the soundpack Saito Hattori sent me.

I'm still lacking a proper voice for DF+a/b/c, and proper sounds for the flame-spitting and 2 others. Anyone has the MAME version of those sounds?

2. Fixed pausetimes for the fairies in DF+punch, so that an enemy when hit in the air does not pause there after the move ends.

I've only one minor complaint. The readme/movelist still says he has no voice.
Is finding MUGEN to be more enjoyable to play when you're not wearing clothes an underrated opinion?
