How long will you stay with the MFG?

Internet forums. Thousands of them. They come and go. Some decent, some shitty, some defiantly illegal. Some people move on with their life while others stay for X amount of days/months/years . How long do you plan on staying with the guild?

This question is also meant for the staff.

I was recently thinking about Cybaster and this. Not in an insulting way at all. I was just wondering where he had been for the past few days.

Actualy..knowing some friends personaly some create while having a fulltime life.

I.E. wife, children etc.

Probably won't come after 30. But Guess I still got a while here unless loss of internet or MUGEN gets boring to me.

I just went away for 5 days to visit a girl in Germany... not such a big deal, is it ? You should rather think about people such as Winane or Blackjack.

Anyway, I'll quit the guild when I quit Mugen. I've been there for 3 years or something like that, and I still like it very much, so...

If I remember correctly, Winane is pursuing studies. I mean extreme studies. I really miss him.
Because of him, you, R[E]ika, Cyanide, Byakko, PotS, Walt, and Ken34, I have started to really analyze the AI code. Still improving hopefully.
Winane fixed my Terry, and taught me about how flawed I was; I mean really flawed when it came to coding.

Never knew BlackJack at all unfortunately.

It's great to have you back Cyb. I need someone more to keep me warm.  :'(

no idea, really; i got bored of this back in 2004 or something; quit and came back after two years. i guess that as long as a few friends hang in there, even if i quit i might as well come back (iirc, you have to blame dampir for my comeback).

I can easily see myself 10 years from now, still browsing this boards, geting the latests releases, and who knows, even releasing some characters.

The day guild closes, i will be here to turn the light off (even tough Val wil be the one doing it phisically).

Who knows?  I want to stay here as long as possible.  After all, this is my first and only forum I've been a part of, so I want to make this a pleasent stay. 

However, if something comes up (if life calls, or if I get permanently banned for some reason or another, etc.), then I must go on to the next chapter.  Now if you excuse me, I got to go back to the Chain-Gang.

I've been here for just about a year. I've met some pretty nice cats here....can't say that they're my friends (that's up to them if they wanna declare me as one of their friends). All in all, its a nice environment here...give or take the occasional lunacy overload  ;P.

Anyway, Mugen is more or less a hobby of mine.
Even if I should for some reason or another leave the guild,
I suppose I would still pop in from time to time.

As long as there is someone I know here, I have an excuse to come.

So even when we're all in our 60's, you guys still better show up. >:(

Can't, it's become an ingrained habit. Only thing that would make me quit would be if every single person on this forum/in the community, became an asshole.

As i haven't been surrounded by assholes leaving is unlikely.

I should point out also that the guild is hands down the most helpful forum out there when it comes to developing for MUGEN. If you got a legitimate dev question, it will be answered in full (R[E]ika was always there for me  :)). I like to be part of a community with prompt service like that  :)

Same here. Over the past year my PC broke down a bunch of times, taking me away from mugen, and the guild. A few months ago my brother got an awesome PC, but said he didn't want me running mugen on it. Finally, I got my laptop, but now, being away from mugen for so long I don't really care for it much anymore. I still browse the general sections of the forum, but wips and releases are a rarity since I no longer download characters much.

I don't have many (if any) friends here, but as long as there are those knowledgeable and inspiring individuals that are still lingering and willing to help me when I hit coding issues, I'll always be sticking around.

hell, i dont even like one on one fighter games, but the fact that mugen IS EVERYONE!!! makes it very worhtwhile for me, i will leave when i get bored of videogames, and by seeing all the old ppl here, that doesnt seem to come soon, this will be my mugen sanctuary, so for the ppl that dont like me, fergit you, im stayin

Even I, who had stopped working on MUGEN related projects, still find myself from time to time checking out this forum, specially when I'm not swamped with problems at work.  BTW, I am looking for some of the guys that I had a great time chatting with before, and obviously could not find them, even on IRC:

And a few more which I may have forgotten the name... I assume you are some kind of happy. I dunno, I'm not sure what you'd like. The general attitude of users here seem happier. Less drama, people seem to play fairly well.
I sure didn't shape this idea up however. With all the different mentalities in this community I actually half expected this plan to blow up. They pretty much drafted me in after I had banned myself from the old Guild =p

This is probably the closest to a utopia the mugen community will get. Well, it is to me and a few others. Maybe your utopia is somewhere different?

Though if it makes you happy to smite me I suppose you can continue. I would rather you constantly go after me than other members so feel free to vent against me and blame me for anything you like. :yes:

About the whole "forcing people to play well" thing. Yup. I am probably the worst at telling people to stop insulting here.
Before Guild got like this insults ran rampant and "gangs and cliques" kept forming all over. Not only would you get 1 person insulting you, but 15 of their copycat friends would follow.

If you do not like that restrictive stance I take I apologize. Not everyone comes to forums to put up with people stroking their ego by insulting and belittling others. I have no use for those people and as long as the powers to be here keep that little blue star above me I will continue to "abuse" my power to stop them.

My view is probably wrong or whatever but meh. I treat others as I would like to be treated, and from observation on here and another forum I frequent, the environment, general vibe, and productivity on a forum is better when people are forced a bit into being civil, tactful, and polite.

Probably won't change my mind about that =p

No idea where the idea of MFG being a "hivemind" came up. All the "you must do this and musn't do that" rules (concerning mugen) were banished. It's a "do whatever the crap you want" now, instead of the dictatorship it was before.

I will quit Mugen when the newest version of Mugen released and the characters does not work in the new mugen from the current winmugen. Like from Mugen 2000.01.01 - > Mugen 2000.06.27 all characters will not work and need major update. I will eventually delete my account here if that happens
