Title: Garfieldfan's Blueprint Workshop
Post by: GarfieldfanMUGEN on March 26, 2022, 03:31:11 am
Welcome to...
Garfieldfan's Blueprint Workshop!

There's character ideas I have, and I do have to study my sources well. That's what this area is for: any non-fighting game characters that I come up with a moveset for. If there is a source for a move, I take note of it (the move's origin will always be shown to the right of the move names). There might not be a ton of characters that'll be on here, but I assure you there is love and care put into these movesets, even if some of them seem jank (if it does seem like it, expect a lot of reworks).

Movesets on the back-burner: 3
Movesets to possibly revise: 0
Movesets that need minor revisions/are complete: 4

Started on a moveset for a new character, while still trying to update Garfield's moveset.

Planned out the rest of .GIFfany's hypers, redid one of Garfield's moves (as well as clarification for a hyper) and added two more characters on the backburner.

Finally expanded on SpongeBob's moveset and finished .GIFfany's.

Added something to first post to signify how many I should revise if needed.

I feel like I'm satisfied enough with Garfield's moveset to actually call it finished. It took many revisions, but I feel it seems in-character for a Garfield moveset than what the other versions of him had felt like.

EDIT: Reworked the Garfield moveset some more, but that's the last revision he's getting. Also reworked some .GIFfany stuff, also calling her moveset done.

SpongeBob moveset possibly done, will possibly need revising.

Also switched up Garfield's moveset to match a vision I had for something else.

Added an alternate version of Garfield under his moveset, check his spoiler.

Replaced the '90s Michelangelo moveset with one I got inspiration to do much more recently. Don't worry, he'll make a return here at some point.

New character moveset. Possibly not my best idea to think of, but I did try to make the moveset more complete than the game she comes from.

Added initial (but rather rough) moveset for Tom and reworked Garfield's Hammy Fakeout into a hyper (forgot to do so a while back).

So, uh... update time, I guess?

So first off, SpongeBob. I got the seasons where people started to believe the show went to shit (if you defend Season 4, those are S5-6), and I do have more to work with as a result, so there's going to be a rework. The level 3 is perfectly fine as-is, but fret not, some moves may return, others will maybe be replaced.

Next up is .GIFfany. While working on her, a lot of move names seemed off, the concept for "Carry My Books?" didn't go out the way I planned, and under Shim's request, another move was added (which you didn't see). Other than that, everything was going as planned, and even though I have everything saved elsewhere, I felt there was no need for her moveset to be here anymore.

Ayano's removal is easy to describe with one name and the recent events (okay, not that recent, it was sometime after the Unity controversy though) tied to it: YandereDev.

YandereDev is no more.

Update time once again!

First, I removed Garfield's alternate Monday moveset because if I felt a character should get an alt like that, it should actually mean something. I don't have plans to scrap a few of the moves, as they'll be reworked and maybe added in the future. But for now, they're gone. Speaking of, I know I said I wasn't gonna revise his moveset further, but with NASB2 out, I just had to include something based on his super move there, so I tided up and added my concepts for the new heavy variants of most specials + the hyper.

Second, all the images are now hosted on File Garden. I was using Discord before that whole thing with the image/download links there, so I didn't want them to go away, and needed a more convenient way to host the images.

Third, a new moveset! As I started getting into Star vs. the Forces of Evil, the bad versions of Star that exist... started to bother me more than it used to. So looking up what she did in the first two seasons, I did the whole moveset in about... 2 nights, and I actually had fun with it because there's some crazy shit in that show and I thought it'd make for a fun moveset. She probably may be revised at some point but I feel she's fine as-is right now.

Another update:

[Garfield]
Moveset reworked again. I felt like I was getting a little too ahead of myself with the heavy versions of the ground-only moves, so I removed them aside from Hackin' Hairballs (which also has a note along with it). Moveset is otherwise the same.

[Marina Liteyears]
Moveset completed. She's part-grappler like she is in Smash Remix, and also takes advantage of other things from her source game. Gold Gem bumped up to a level 3 hyper due to the item in the source game giving you an entire extra bar of health.

[Star Butterfly]
Moveset technically completed. Two moves removed but a ground-only version of Princess Cuckoo Pants was added to compensate for it.

Well, I made and improved the stance sprite for SpongeBob:

What happens when I watch too much of a cartoon based on a video game?

Well, that's answered with my latest moveset.

[UPDATE]
Forgot a move in Roll's moveset, that has been added now.
