From the vid, I dunno if it's me, but Squall's launcher combo does a bit much damage equal to that of an ordinary Lv.1 Super. (also on that link combo during 1:22).  He may need a damage reduction even in his Lv.1 Renzokuken.  But those are my thoughts.  Magic damage is fine.

3:35, misaligned guard spark (?).  And when he goes to his win state, he may need a frame or two.  Looks weird as it is.

BTW, I'm withdrawing my palette I posted.  I'm saving for a seperate pack so I'm not going to submit any colors.

When you say "Launcher combo," if you're talking about the one that starts with Renzokuken and then goes into Lion Heart, that's a L3 Super and had a bunch of added damage because of the Gunblade Trigger, which you have to time properly. I have lowered it a bit since I made the vid, but as it is right now, if you do LP > HP > Gunblade Rush > Gunblade Trigger > Renzokuken > Successfully add Gunblade Trigger to every hit > Lionheart, it does a little over 500 damage and takes 3 Super bars, which I think is alright given how much meter and precise timing is required. The combo at 1:22 was a mistake, because he shouldn't be able to start another chain after the Gunblade Trigger (if you watch you'll see he went LP > HP > Gunblade Rush > Gunblade Trigger > LP > HP, which won't be possible in the final release). Also, the win-pose animation looks better in-game, and I based it off of one of K's animations.

But I really liked that palette! It's okay, I can't wait to see more. Digging all the palettes guys, most of them look great.

Actually I'm referring to C.HP, the staple for how the S.H.A.D.E.s character start off their aerial combos, but now that I think about, it's fine as it is.

So, it won't be a link combo?  Dang, I liked how that one was performed, with a little damage scaling and all.

As far as palettes go, I'll do a complete set when the release is out.  It just feels odd to do colors for your works until release when you're also a palette maker.  But, I'll repost the one I did.  Feel free to add.



Off topic:  I did made colors for both Snow on Jan '11.  New color style and stuff.

Finally, given to how the AI would be made, Squall would be for Mugen 1.0 only?

Oh, it's Dio. I totally see it now. Haven't played that game in forever. I used to have a Dreamcast copy of it but I have no idea what happened to it.

Now someone should actually make a Charlie palette though. :D

Oh, and I hope you didn't actually replace Fire with Blizzard. Even in Dissidia, Squall has Fire-influenced attacks. Leaving him without a Fire spell would be just wrong. Now if you meant you added Blizzard and kept Fire, we're square.

No, I replaced Fire with Blizzard. I don't know what he does in Dissidia, but I decided that judging by the fact that he begins FFVIII with an Ice-based GF and a Thunder-based GF, that he should have those. The way his commands are set up would make it hard for him to have many spells, so I wanted to focus on just two types. Originally it was Fire and Thunder, now it's Ice and Thunder. So right now his magic spells are as follows:

Blizzard - D,DB,B,P (LP for close, HP for far)
Thunder - D,DB,B,K (LK for close, HK for far)
Blizzaga - D,DB,B,D,DB,B,P (LP for close, HP for far)
Thundaga - D,DB,B,D,DB,B,K (LK for close, HK for far)

The problem I'm having now is that over at the Capcom vs The World thread, MVC-style commands are handily winning the pole that will determine what style of Super commands the game (and it's characters, of which Squall is the first) will have. Because of this, I don't know how I will keep the close/far dynamic intact in the Super version of his magic spells since you'll have to press both Ps or Ks to activate the Super.
