So, for ages, Kyo's idle in CvS always bothered me and I couldn't pinpoint why. After taking a deep analysis on it, I realized that the problem was that Kyo's hair and jacket was moving in sync with his body. If you know a thing or two about overlapping movement in animation, then the loose parts of the character should move slightly delayed as they catch up to the character movement, otherwise it looks stiff and unnatural.

-->

So I took a moment to delay all the frames of Kyo's hair and jacket by one frame, and that made the animation much better for me already, despite it being a subtle difference. Feel free to use it, I guess!

Dang, I prefer it like that too, such a subtle difference but it makes sense.

Kinda inspired by MasterKOF's latest stuff.

I used MasterKOF's base sprite... well, as a base :)
Have a good day!

I tried this new method of conversion I developed by myself, basically i extremely semplified the palette in order to modify very few things and to get animation more flowing  reducing intercalation issues -

a couple parts in the jacket look a bit jittery, and the right knee in a few frames, but otherwise its looking pretty good!

Good base of Yashiro! Did you have scalled the sprite yet?
It will need scalling to CVS size and having slightly bigger head too to match CVS proportions.

I do but just a little, i increased a bit the feet and for the for face the ratio is quite the same except for the shading and I moved the eyes position a pixel forward. I think this is a way to have good animation without going mad with the sprites intercalation and also a quicker method to convert a big amount of sprites.I'm using this method on other chars as well.

All right, i retouched a little shading in the gloves, here's a comparison with the kof stance

most CVS characters have bigger head compared to their kof incarnations.

Nice!
By comparing side by side, I can say the result is good.
the touching was enough here.

perfect size for head. particularly considering how small is Yashiro's head in 2K2

This is really promising.

Many thanks mate, i preferred to not exaggerate to avoid bugs, May be the shoes should be alil bigger, but in the end i think the result looks quite satisfying IMO

Oh sweet! Thank's for the feedback. I also made an edit of the existing Mr Karate sprite to look more like Normal Mr. Karate, with a shorter nose and less wild beard and hair, though I had trouble with making the hair look more like normal karate

It's not just about size, it's about proportions, better work with one frame at a time.

This looks way too much like the source.
The shadows on the nearest leg are not how CvS cast shadows, the proportions are still AoF1 like.
You are probably better with KOF XII/XIII or AoF3 as your base.
That’s when I thought, “good grief”
Just ain’t my belief
