3rd summon, Zodiac from FFT! Just one more to go. It's Alexander, but not the Alexander anyone would expect. Also, a ranking system after each battle! Added solely for the purpose of....because I could. It was something new to do.

I'd rather not. I'd practically have to redo the entire character. She also wouldn't fit with the Tank I made. I was going for a series kind of thing. Fio vs [Metal Slug Boss here].

Released a BETA version of Agrias Oaks for 1.0 only.

Agrias Oaks BETA

Since the BETA release I've fixed her damage dampeners, juggle check, damage and hitcount reading, many other tweaks here and there, added an Egi summon, etc. Also...

Pheonix Egi (work in progress)


I was gonna make the enemy become inflicted by a status effect by chance whenever a Summon was used, but I thought an Egi following you around was better. The Pheonix Egi for example, hurts the opponent whenever you're not attacking. It acts as a damaging shield for anyone who comes too close until it's time runs out and goes away.
The Zodiark Egi for example will act as a protective shield for any attacks coming at you. It'll give you immunity to stagger until it goes away like the Pheonix Egi would.
These are just ideas. I'm not set on anything. If anyone has any ideas I'd be glad to hear'em.

I know this is probably not a big deal, but it is to me. Agrias is now compatible with WinMugen & 1.0 since a lot of people still use WinMugen. I haven't edited it to be perfect with WinMugen (like the the positioning of the blocks in the intro, the morale bar, summons, etc.) and I might not, but she's still totally playable on both versions now. I also reduced the explod/helper usage by a shit ton so that she isn't bloated. All that's really left now is her level 3 morale attack, her AI and maybe some different win, lose poses.

After that, I'll finish up Fio and then figure out what to do afterwards. I've been thinking about it, though and I might scrap Ibuki and instead work on a Tifa in the same style as Agrias. Speaking of which, the style is the shit-ton of combos you can make and the morale bar which varies in use depending on the character.
Tifa, for example, would probably have a Morale Bar relating to her Limit Break in FFVII, the slot machine. It would be constantly rolling and land on whatever it was last on the moment you hit your opponent. There'll be 3 slot machines total, each representing a level (level's 1-3) and you can use a skill for each one. Every time a skill is used, it resets. You can land on the "loser" slot which stops it where it's at or does nothing if it's level 0, the "fantastic" slot which increases the potency or adds a bonus effect as well as level it up to your next skill and the "okay" which levels you up to the next skill.
That idea would be 100% if I wasn't so sure that I won't have the time to. I might be gone for a long time again after Fio or for good. Who knows. We'll see.

If it can make her look super flashy I'd love to see it.

It's not so much that I'm better, Ryon. We just code different things. I stuck to what I knew and you yours, but again I appreciate the sentiment.
You've got some pretty sweet things going on yourself. I still can't for the life of me figure out how to make a good set of lifebars. Stages even. I always seem to get something wrong and it breaks my characters a lot.

Also, I like that she abuses explodes, too. I discovered that the whole "only players and helpers experience gravity" wasn't true. Which I originally had decided on my own at some point I guess. vel + accel rids me of having to use so many helpers. Who knew. :P
I just didn't want her so close to the explod limit (I had her using at least 120+ explods for about 6-7 of her attacks. Reduced it to about half or less than that.)
I mean..what if you were playing 2vs2? Her attacks would look dead from her freaking overkill explods and helpers

I've decided Agrias won't have Alexander as a summon. It was the big guy from Bahamut Lagoon if anyone knows of it.
Anyways, too much of something takes away from her as a whole. That's why. Gotta finish up her Aegis, add one more level 3 Morale attack (which'll be her biggest attack yet), color separation and she should be good to go. I already finished her Summon Egi's and polished her up a bit with things involving team fights along with any compatibility issues with WinMugen & 1.0 both.

Also! I've never done a template before so why not. If anyone's up to it I wouldn't mind someone making a palette or two for her. If someone actually does one, thanks in advance.


Please. Don't mind the text....I was having difficulties. As for the various colors. They all simply had one color swapped with another. The luminance and whatnot are all what they should be.

As for Fio. I kinda regret making her. She's not really designed for Mugen, but I'll finish her. She's a 1.0 character and as soon as I add in one little thing to give her ammo and finish her basic hatchet/tonfa attacks she'll be done. I think. She might need an intro and win/lose poses as well.

I like the way the sprites looked. No one else is doing her. I'm making an Android 18 from the new DBZ EB game once I finish up Agrias and maybe Fio. Might never finish Fio. She's not built for mugen at all. x.x
Only problem with 18 is sounds. If anyone has any let me know? Preferably Japanese. I'd appreciate it. Otherwise I'm just gonna use some old ones I found in Japanese.

As for Agrias. Same as before. Finishing up her color separation as well as the little details before I begin on her ultimate special attack. Everything else is pretty much done.

They all were. I was considering just using them as they weren't that bad, but this is pretty fantastic of you. It's surprisingly hard to find DBZ voices in Japanese so thank you very much. Definitely using. I  also heard a Destructo Disc in there. Yessss!

Got some work done on 18. These are just some generic combo's she can pull off and stuff.



I plan on making them rather extensive and making them require some skill to pull off. Never was a fan of games that made one combo the only good combo for every match (watch a playthrough of the game with 18. You'll find someone using the exact same combo for entire matches).
Basically, she's got your X combos, your Y combos, your Z ki blasts and the most important part being your button+button skills for your critical attacks.

I'm taking a break on Agrias. Rushing her will just do me no good. Gotta go through her and fix up a lot of loose ends and I just lack the motivation to do so.

Update on Agrias. Finished her for the most part. I haven't finished color separating her and I won't by the time I release her. I'll just update her with that down the road. Also, her Saint Mode (or God Mode) after her Reraise activates when she dies. She'll only have 2-4 attacks and I've already finished 2 plus I need to add some prettiness for when she's in Saint Mode.
As for her ultimate attack, Frozen by the Judgement Blade...

Okay it's been 8 months but whatever. Went on a little hiatus, tried to come back and finish things up, released a few things, moved out of home and into my own place, shuffled the computer around a bit aaaand the harddrive broke. Tried to get it fixed through a friendly stranger and the "expert" wiped my external drive erasing everything I had when installing a new hard drive and OS so...whatever I was doing before. All gone. No more.
IT'S ALL GONE!! FUCK MUGEN

So I got back into Mugen to try it with some CVS2 sprites I found of Alena from Dragon Quest. They had potential, but I felt the current character for her that was out was majorly lacking with the times so I've been remaking her in the style of my Shiranui Mai (which I'll update with the release of Alena).

Yeah it was around that time that I had just gotten back into Mugen. Before that it was Game Grumps, work, video games, video games, video games, and also no computer for a little while. I replied to the PM btw. Big stuff. For me anyways. Kinda excited.

Me neither. I'm not sure what the finished product is gonna be, but I hope it's really awesome and balanced. I'm still learning how to create a balance in characters.

And it is. Someone must've hotlinked it years ago.

Just seen the video when I woke up she's looking awesome man, can't wait for the release. Also that sucks that you lost your other projects.
I look at it as a fresh start. I needed it. When I'm not hording in real life I'm hording on my computer so I'm not that upset about it.

Thank yah, thank yah. I pretty much did everything that she was clearly sprited for (cheap k.o and whatnot was not easy to get look of with her lack of sprites lemme tell yah). Now I need to innovate another move or two. I already gave her Kaisen Dankairaku which was completely innovated. I'm so happy she had just the right sprites to get that attack to look the way it does. I'm looking into an aerial hyper projectile like she does in Dragon Quest Heroes where she's conjuring giant fire balls and throwing them around. Gonna be....fun!

So she's about finished. Poorly edited some sprites to give her a projectile attack and redid her juggle mechanics completely to try out something new and call it my own.
Also gave her a MUCH better portrait and I'm updating Mai along with the release of Alena. On the off chance that no one like the jugglecounter then Just...keep the old Mai. There's not really going to be that big of a difference between the last update and this update of Mai. There WERE some fixes, but eh. Nothing major.

Simply, hit your opponent into the air or while they're in the air, you use up a certain amount of juggle points. Until you run out, you can juggle anything.
You basically can go crazy or try to find any combo's to slaughter your opponent.
It's not like you can spam things very easily, though. Custom Combo is still a thing.
It seems a little cheap so I might either make the characters weaker or make the jugglepoints cost more so you run out faster.

And I know this can be confusing so I'll explain why I put CVS2 in front of everything. It's because it's the sprite style. The gameplay is also heavily influenced by CVS2, but I wouldn't call it accurate if at all. I've no idea what else to call it though so eh. Whatevs. I'll call it CVS2+ or something from now on to avoid confusing and/or upsetting anyone.

It's possible she was meant to. After going through all of her sprites however you can easily tell that Mai (as always) from CVS was used as a base for a lot of her sprites. Some of Yuri from CVS, too.

No, it's more likely she was meant to look CPS2 styled since her sprites use Sakura for lots of her attacks, and very few of Mai's, Vanessa's (KOF), and Makoto's (SF3)... maybe Karin's and Chun Li's too.
And even then the shading is much closer to CPS2... to be more precise, SFA-MvC style than CvS.

Put her sprites near any of the CvS cast (the ones that were re-drawn, not SFA-rescaled sprites) and you'll see the difference.

The sprites look more akin to CPS2 from my view, but that's not really important tbh.
It's possible she was meant to. After going through all of her sprites however you can easily tell that Mai (as always) from CVS was used as a base for a lot of her sprites. Some of Yuri from CVS, too.

No, it's more likely she was meant to look CPS2 styled since her sprites use Sakura for lots of her attacks, and very few of Mai's, Vanessa's (KOF), and Makoto's (SF3)... maybe Karin's and Chun Li's too.
And even then the shading is much closer to CPS2... to be more precise, SFA-MvC style than CvS.

Put her sprites near any of the CvS cast (the ones that were re-drawn, not SFA-rescaled sprites) and you'll see the difference.

I wasn't sure about her in her entirety, but I could tell Mai and Yuri were used here and there. She's also got bigger sprites than the style of CvS. I downsized her to make it look more like so. I knew she wasn't CvS styled especially since she's lacking a lot of sprites necessary to be considered CvS hence my quest to piece individual sprites together that animate well together to make up for her lack of CvS styled sprites... Like her Cheap K.O. Lol she just crouches and lies down. Nothing else fit. :P

Updated first post with finished projects and new WIP's. Decided on Birdie for now. There's a few others I'm considering doing like CVS-turned Ibuki, Firebrand with some palette editing (if necessary), Kula and Bonne Jenet. Bonne Jenet especially. I love the feel and design of the character. I have to have a take at coding her.

Birdie's going very smoothly, but I've hit a bump and it might be temporary, it might be forever. I don't have any sounds for him and even if I got my hands on some SFV sound rips, the death sound that echo's. I'm unsure of how to go about getting that effect. Not the "AHHH-Ahhh-ahh-ahh..." echo. The "AHH-AHHA-HH-HH-AHHHH" echo where it's like...amplified and slow-mo. The fucking way it is in CVS2. You know it. Ahhhh what to do...

Just a quick update on Birdie (I say quick, but getting these gifs were a major fucking pain in my ass.)

His chains were a pain in my ass. Half of it didn't make sense and the other half theoretically should've worked, but yet it wouldn't. That being the facing/turning. The biggest hurdle in all of this for sure, but worth it. I can't wait to get to the other attacks D:

I was actually in the process of thinking about that and deciding on it. I'm going with his newest moves from SFV, but I'm also just going for whatever I can in general. It's not going to be a 100% SFV, though as I'm sure you're aware. Lack of sprites, but I'll see what I can do. I just learned of one of his headbutt moves from SFV so now I have to change his headbutt throw to just a like...an angry table flip throw.

I ain't dead yet. Just been working slowly or not at all for anyone who's curious. Hit a bump in Birdie where basically...I had no idea how to make his hypers since he doesn't really have any nor does he have the sprites for'em. I'm working on what I can do for now as of today, but my original idea for Birdie was to make a mid-boss character out of him. So to make up for his lack of other things he'll have a mediocre super armor. 1 hit = armor, 2+ hits = gethit state basically. So whenever he gets hit in his armor he'll grunt and say angry things at you and just continue onward with his attack.

Also I'm using his English voice because I'd prefer to have the diversity rather than all Japanese since he's not Japanese, he's English.

I'll probably add more and more things to all of these characters down the road. Some original stuff or some custom stuff, but stuff nonetheless.

As for her FX. The idea was for her to be different from the rest not just in gameplay but in visuals too from both CVS and POTS'. It's also because KoF XIII's FX have so much variety for pretty much everything I need and so many other FX matches it. It was the perfect choice.

Here's something I was having some fun with today.

It's the title of a full-game project I'll eventually make. Mai, Alena and now sub-boss Birdie were all originally planned as single releases for it. And that's all I've gotten so far is 3 characters done. No stages, screenpack, lifebars, etc. Not yet anyways, but in due time.
Anyways the gyf and webm shows the title and the fun I was having with it in MUGEN.

The game'll be simple. It's in the title. The road to become the #1 champion world fighter (Story Mode) so there will be dialogue involved too and a final boss.

So I got his ultimate done, but now I have to decide if it's his max ultimate or just an ultimate with the 3 variations... I think It'd be best to just have it be his max ultimate.

Note that if you haven't played Mai or Alena then this might not make sense.

Alright so I did his air throw days ago, fixed the hanging chain even way before that and finished all 3 variations of his Bull Revenger today. After I make a 1.1 version, tweak a few things here and there and fix a bunch'a lil things on Mai and Alena he should be ready for a release. Maybe in a week? I might get antsy and do it earlier :D

I've made enough characters for now. I'm pretty sure my next WIP might be an edited Field Blazing....Blaze Fielding...edited into Tifa. So I'm gonna procrastinate instead.
I've always wanted to make some lifebars and I might make it so it can be used in single, turns, simul, etc. and release it, but for the most part its for my future WIP game, Champion's Road.
This is just like...testing it out. Opinions?
