Ah, thanks, this one helps a lot.
And curse you, crow Mamahaha was a special "mode" I had planned (like Nash's black palette). ;P
No prob.  And oops, my bad.  I was just going through girls who had bird helpers in games, and Jill was first off the rank.

Found that thru-the-floor glitch.

Were there any debug messages? Like "changed to invalide state something"?
And the palettes are nice, but I think they could use more contrast, namely brighter light tones.

*Puts two Nakorurus in watch mode on Fast 9*
It did, but I was tired and the writing was very small.  I'll look for the glitch again.

Contrast-upped them, a few minor changes.  Do with them what you will.

Also, I bet no one knew she was a member of S.T.A.R.S.  Comes complete with zombie crow Mamahaha.

Having Nakoruru fight herself in Watch mode triggered a couple of sink-through-the-floors.  One came off a short-jump air MP, the other from her Mamahaha riding stance.

Just in case they got lost...

Why is it that shit always goes down when I'm out of town?  I'm dropping everything to check this out.

Solid work as always, PotS.  Have some palettes.

also guile was replaced by remy in part 3 .... doesn't seem logical to bring him back.... if they do that then what about the nash fans?.... I don't see SF4 with Guile, Nash and Remy.... thats just a bit excessive....
Uh ? Why would all three be together ? Nothing was ever said about Remy staying to begin with. It's the opposite, they said they would do their best to bring back everyone from SF2. That means Guile. Not Remy, not Nash.
Although, of course, they haven't said either that Nash and Remy would not be in as well, but it's.. doubtable to say the least.
blah blah blah
i don't want all 3 of them in one game! read my post before jumping to conclusions... he said she said crap... im sure bringing guile back will keep all the fan boys happy but storyline wise its just stupid... what purpose would girl Guile possibly have in sf4 if he finished his life's goal in ssf2t? Bison is gone he avenged Nash.... he goes home and lives in peace with wife and daughter.... thus no guile in Sf3.... so now out of the blue he's going to bush his hair back up and fight just for the sake of coming back...? WTF?... if Guile is back... Bison is back thats just how it's going to be... and if Bison is back then Capcom should redub this game Street Fighter 2 God Shin Orochi LvL 5,000 with a cherry on top edition... I don't care if its not 2d I don't care if old characters dont come back! What I want is progress in terms of storyline not a 3d rendered SF2!
First of all, you've quoted yourself saying how you can't see Guile, Nash and Remy in the one game.  Baiken didn't suggest that's what you wanted, he said there's no chance in hell of it happening.

Secondly, while bringing back Guile from his going home to be a family man makes little sense, it makes a hell of a lot more sense than bringing back an unpopular character hated for being a blatant Guile clone.  Maybe Guile wants to mop up the remnants of Shadowlaw before throwing in the towel?  Maybe Chun Li enlists his assistance mopping up said remnants of Shadowlaw?  Maybe he has an affair with some blue-green-haired tart at a French air force base?  My point is, they will find some way to write Guile back in.

Thirdly, newsflash.  They are making this game to suck up to SF2 fans.  Deal with it.

Fourth, you call Guile a girl and prefer Remy?  Get your head examined.

I recognize that any possible answer here is interpreted as a fantasy, thus I'm comfortable enough with expressing a desire for nonreal women.  On that note...Ninjas.  Taki, Ibuki, Kasumi, Ayane, Kunimitsu, Kitana...I could go on for a while.

I've seen that picture before, along with someone saying that it was fanart.  It could be whatever that thing is, but to me it smells a little too much like Sin from FFX.

In related news, Udon is working on three new SF comic series: SF2T (continues SF2), SF3 and SF Legends: Chun-Li.
Isn't that the first time SF3 steps outside of a game?
I think it is.  You just made me dig out the compilation books, and yeah, they still need to close off the SF2 arc.  Out of interest's sake, is there any canon link between Chun Li and the twins?  It's something they really played up in the comics, but is it all just Udon throwing them in early?

How many total characters do you expect? With the current state of things, I think it'll have about as many as SFZ2.
Mental note, rebuy the Alpha Anthology.  Someone flogged my last one at a party...

Anyway, I never really had a number in mind.  I'd say the SF2T cast (16?), plus a handful of SF3s, a few Alphas, and one or two new characters.  Around 25, no more than 30.  Then that begs the question, is that too many fighters?  Or even not enough?

Without Vega, it makes you wonder who they want to use as a boss.  Vega would fuck up too many continuities to be worth it, but then your only alternative is.... Gill...  This actually could go either way, come to think of it.

Anyone mind if I continue with some roster wankery?  Feel free to input, will be edited as seen fit.

-----TL;DR

Confirmed SF4
Likely SF4
Possibly SF4
Unlikely SF4

Characters in Turbo: Gouki, Mike Bison, Blanka, Cammy, Chun Li, Dee Jay, Dhalsim, E Honda, Fei Long, Guile, Ken, Vega, Ryu, Sagat, T Hawk, Balrog, Zangief.

Characters in SF3: Alex, Gouki, Chun Li, Dudley, Elena, Gill, Hugo, Ibuki, Ken, Makoto, Necro, Oro, Q, Remy, Ryu, Sean, Twelve, Urien, Yun, Yang.

-----

Ono is quoted as saying that he regrets making SF3 with a almost completely new roster, and that he vowed to bring back as many SF2 characters as possible.  Thus, all 11 SF2 characters are likely additions, the exception being Vega, who I think will stay dead.  While he said this, he didn't mention anything about actively excluding SF3 or Alpha characters, so anyone's got a chance.  Having said that, Ono prefers to have SF2 characters returning.  Taking that into account, we can discount the clone movelists from SF3: Dudley, Necro and Remy are as unlikely to return as Mike Bison, Dhalsim, Blanka and Guile are likely to return.

Cammy, Dee Jay, Fei Long and T Hawk are also likely, but not as likely as the other SF2 characters.  Cammy maybe, as she does have a lot more exposure than the other three, but I'm still grouping them together.

Alex, as I said before, needs something to set up his appearance in SF3.  From what I know, Gill had his father assaulted (?).  Perhaps SF4 is where he pisses off the Illuminati in the first place?  Other than that, his moves aren't direct SF2 ripoffs (?), so he's an outside chance to get in.

Gouki appears in SF2T and SF3, it wouldn't make sense for him to sit out a tournament in between, especially since he played such a pivotal role in SF2 (killing Vega).

Elena is an unknown factor.  While she has no real reason to enter SF4, like most of the SF3 girls she has a following, and her moves aren't copy-pasted from SF2.  A possibility, albeit a fine one.

Gill will most likely stay in the shadows until SF3.

Hugo, while distinctly different from Zangief, is a Final Fight character, and I remember reading Ono had said no outside-SF characters will appear (can someone confirm this?).  Shame, really.  A 3D Poison would be awesome.

Ibuki has an original movelist, a decent following, and like all the SF3 teenagers isn't young enough to count out.  SF4 could easily be taken as a training mission for the ninja girl.  That and I won't count her out simply because I'm a rabid Ibuki fanboy.

Makoto has every right Ibuki has, only less exposure.  Makoto only had one SF3 game compared to Ibuki's three plus Puzzle Fighter.  I won't count her out, though, because everything else is going for her.

Oro is another unknown factor.  While I can't count him in because of his pivotal involvement in the SF3 plot, I can't count him out because of his motivations and original movelist.  Same as Q.

Sean is highly unlikely.  He was barely a contender in SF3; what good will he be before Ken trains him?  Probably safe to count him out, but you never know.

Twelve doesn't look good for this game.  The guys who wrote the EGM article did bring up a very valid point: they won't want the game turning into a freakshow.  Plotwise he was only released to kill Necro, who for all we know hasn't even been made yet (?), or at least not to an extent that he shouldn't have escaped as early as this game.  In my opinion, too weird and impossible-to-effectively-animate a character for a 3D game period.

Urien would be interesting to see in this game.  This game could be a chance to show his climb up the Illuminati corporate ladder.  If Alex gets in, a confrontation between him and Urien could see Alex beating Urien, leaving big brother Gill to clean house for him and making Urien eat a big slice of humble pie, setting both characters up for SF3.

Yun and Yang have nothing stopping them, either.  They're both young, they're both popular, neither of them rip movelists off potential returning characters.  The only problem would be how to fit them in plotwise.  I don't know if they have links with Chun Li canonically yet, but don't forget Karin started off as a fancomic.

Thats a cool idea cause EX have a Dizzy attack that was pretty decent especially in opening up crouching turtlers so i can see were they're going.
I hope you can only use this once per round.
The full-on unblockable attack drains 3/4 of the Revenge bar.  It's just a question of how much punishment it takes for that to build.  It sounds fair that you'd only be able to fill your Revenge bar enough for one before getting knocked out, but two at absolute most.

I just hope they did NOT remove the custom character generator
system from this one... and also if they did anything bad to Xianghua,
I'm going to diss this game to hell! :bigcry:
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the developers admitted that Xianghua and Sophitia were broken for SC3, I almost guarantee they'll get nerfed.

oh and if the owl thing was his head why is it that some other costume choices he doesn't have the owl head? But a normal human head of an old dude lol
He's a were-owl.  He has both forms.  At least that's how I see it.

I'm not saying you and only you think Halo is a good game.  I'm saying you're one of the more vocal fans.  Take a look back at your own Halo 3 thread and just try to deny it.

SDS Overfiend said:
When i mentioned rival schools i mention as in reference to one of the 3-d figher's they did that was very good being that it was a light hearted fighting game that could get away with the colorful, bright and kid friendly theme. Lets talk about the others shall we? Final fight Revenge is one i know you do remember right Mr. Chosis? Straight trash!!! Now How Bout Star Gladiator/Plasma Sword? Yes a very good game but not on par with anything baring name to the SF legacy. Power Stone 1 and 2 was the shit but once again they are game that can get aways with the bright colors and comic book theme because they were original IP's.
So Capcom's 3D fighting history isn't nearly as bad as you were making it out to be?  One shit game, three good franchises.  That's not a bad record in the least.

SDS Overfiend said:
Now your saying as for looking better than Virtua fighter 5 you can give a rat's ass thats your opinion but when it comes to next-gen gaming on these new powerful console graphics is something to be concerned about if you paid hard earn cash to leap forward. We've been waiting for SF4 for how many years now? And you mean to tell me that with RE:5,Lost Planet,Dead Rising, DMC4 etc theses pics should have more detailed and better facial expressions from what i see now. I see the Soul Calibur 4 and Tekken 6 shots and they are beautiful so capcom should know what and whom they are contenting with. Don't make no excuses about capcom trying to base they're art work off of comic-book graphical style cause if so then Okami's art style would have suited them better( yeah i know it was clover studio's but it was under capcom development tools.)
Okami's art direction was based off traditional Japanese brushwork.  You know, like the brush the player uses in the game.  Nothing to do with comic books.  Besides, if you're that obsessed with the graphics of SF4, do you really think using an engine designed for PS2 games is a wise move for a next-generation game that, as you said, everyone's been waiting to pay good money for?

Besides, unless you have a home theater system worth more than your car (presuming you have one), I don't think the difference between SF4 and its competition in terms of graphics will be that noticeable.  Save your bitching until you've seen how the game plays.

Hell yeah! If you haven't notice this is capcom were talking about. A Picture is worth 1000 words.
Also compare with and too the way ken's face look and capcoms 3D fighting history (Other than Project Justice)
you got to be kidding me. If you are going to step into the 3D world with one of your most famous games  you have to come better than that When Graphically VF5 ups the bar on graphical looks for a 3D fighter.
You're the guy who thinks the Halo series is God's gift to the FPS genre, right?  Forgive me if I take your opinion with a grain of salt.

What 3D fighting history outside of Rival Schools?  You do know that Capcom didn't make the EX games, don't you?  Other than that, it's not like Star Gladiator bombed.

As for looking better than Virtua Fighter 5, who gives a rat's ass?  VF is and always has been playing catch up with the Namco fighters graphics-wise anyway.  Go and have a look at some high res Tekken 6 and Soul Cal 4 shots.  CoJ are clearly preferring capitalizing on the comic-book graphical style set by their 2D games, rather than competing with everyone else in the 'my game can push more polys than yours' circlejerk.

So there's a 2-3 year gap between IV and III.  IV takes place somewhere between 1993 and 1998.  The younger III characters aren't young enough to rule out (they'd all be about 16/17 now, older than Sakura was in Alpha), so Yun, Yang, Makoto and Ibuki are all possibilities.  Sean I'm not sure about, as there are already two shotos in, with another all but certain, and the possibility of Dan making a comeback.
