My apartment complex is raising my rent by $225 a month, starting with a $125 bump on the lease I will sign in October, than the rest of it on the next lease. No one is getting raises at my job and I only work around 34 hours a week. Rather than get a second job just to make up for a couple hundred bucks a month, I figured now that I am on the last character for Last Bout, I can refocus some of this productive energy (I've sprited like 6 full characters since February) and open up commissions again!
Right off the bat, I should note that unless we're talking 4 figures, I probably won't be taking full character sheet commissions. Taking too many of those back in the 2010-2012 area is what burned me out and sent me packing for a couple years.
Here are the specifics of my stuff and current prices:
STYLES
I can create sprites in the following styles, listed in order of how adept I am at them:
Pseudo-CVS (Rage of the Dragons, Power Instinct, my own stuff) CVS CPS2 King of Fighters (though these are more detailed and will be pricier)
No SF3 sprites, that is admittedly not in my skillset. Basically, what I would like to focus on is single sprites or animations, CVS-conversions for KOF characters on an anim-by-anim basis, or rips of 3D moves converted to 2D (i.e., if you have a SFV or KOFXIV move you want converted and can provide rips or screenshots). If you need examples of my sprites, just peruse this thread and hopefully Photobucket hasn't eaten all of them. Also, I don't do complex color separation. I will sprite in whatever default palette you want but CS will have to be done afterwards unless it is fairly simple.
PRICES
Single Sprites - $10-15 depending on complexity and style Animations - $20-60 depending on frame count and complexity (no idle/fighting stances, they give me a headache and I mostly outsource these for my own characters) Full Sheets - Not considering these unless we're talking $1000+, which I understand most people don't have lying around for Mugen. If the design is easy or it's a character I care about, we could negotiate this lower but I will most likely not be doing full sheets
REMEMBER THE GOOD/FAST/CHEAP RULE
Since I do work almost full time, remember that how quickly I get your commissions to you will vary, but a good rule to remember is the Good/Fast/Cheap rule. If you want it to be good and cheap, it won't be fast. If you want it fast and cheap, it won't be good. If you want it good and fast, it won't be cheap.
PAYMENT
I take payment up front for smaller stuff, but if it's a bigger commission we can work something out.
Thanks for checking this out and I hope to hear from some folks soon.
Check out this preview video! I changed my plans for her Maximum Overdrive, taking inspiration from Heidern in KOFXIV, because I thought it was cool and because my original plan seemed too similar to his Offense Drive.
Wish I could say they were! I've been trying to get animation bases from less obvious sources lately and it's good to know it's working.
For her Ascensio special I downloaded some rips of Nash from SFV and used his anti-air/Genocide Cutter type move, but changed the timing, the direction of the kick and made some other edits so it isn't so obviously the same move, since the function of her special isn't supposed to be a standard flash kick/GC type anti air, but more like Leona/Heidern's Moon Slasher. The Ascio animation is a a heavy edit of some of the frames along with some other stuff. Umbra is an edit of Leona's Neomax from KOFXIII and Rapide is a combination of frames from Heidern and Nash.
Vanessa is one of my favorite KOF characters but I hate those damn pants. Was really hoping they'd switch them back. Was there ever a storyline reason for her randomly switching to those pants and sandals?
Glad you're excited man! Finished all of his sprites today (save for his fighting stance which I'm outsourcing), and I'll be sending you the lines to record tomorrow.
I honestly think you could build one hell of an entire wrestling company around just the people they've released since last year. That much talent just wasted.
This batch of cuts saps my desire to keep watching even more than usual because Ruby Riott was my personal favorite. With her gone, Daniel Bryan gone and Keith Lee out indefinitely with some weird injury or illness, I just have no desire to tune in for anything other than NXT.
I usually just use gethit sprites if I don't make specific dizzy sprites, but I forgot to do that, lol. Another rookie move, I'm slipping in my old age! Going to update soon with a fix.
I actually have roughly 7 characters ready for release for this game but I'm waiting on stuff like voice acting and what not. Let me know what you think or if anyone else finds any more bugs.
You pretty much nailed it, she's got a charge anti-air, a rekka, plus a quick shift/teleport that can travel forward, diagonally upward or straight upward with follow-ups. She's designed to move suddenly and swiftly while hitting you from different directions with a lot of quick, low damage attacks that add up fast.
She's next after I finish Atleif's sprites are done. I'm going to update the first post with her planned moveset as well. She's gonna be a combination of Decapre, Yang, and Leona if that makes sense.
