I traced it from some concept art, so I'm not sure. I guess so?

I like the edits you made I'll keep some of them in mind for the next run. Not a fan of the bigger forehead and shoulder edits tbh. Thanks.

I see. You won this round. :P

Not done, but I'm not procrastinating either.

One last frame is probably definitely needed. Oh why, cruel world.

I'm also working on my next Requiem test, which will be vastly different from the last, but some ideas will carry over. Won't be done soon though, but I'm working on it.

Hey, did everything get bigger all of a sudden? :P

(no, I haven't scratched Allen out of testing, I'm going to work on him alongside MC Link, but with a Capcom babe. Can you guess who? ;))

So yeah, bigger sizes kill my motivation, so I won't be continuing it. To be fair, the only finished one is Chingling, but I don't like the idea I went for now that I look at it, the black outlines in this case look too jarring.

I'm ruling out the usage of black outlines, JJBA did it will, but for some reason, I feel it'll complicate everything, I want to go for simplicity.

So test 3 is Allen and *drum roll* Ada Wong. Will now look into a CPS3-ish size this time around.

So have some assorted pixel stuff:

Almost done with this. I'm aware that the hand shake portion doesn't look dynamic enough (mainly due to how I positioned it), but it'll be looked into soon. Plan on finishing this tomorrow or after, I slept on this for far too long.

Frame 1/10 cleaned. Good thing I like Piccolo, otherwise I'd have lost all motivation to take this one up.

Today, I remembered which brush I used to make the left-most foreground tree, so I made a new one. Now knowing the process, the only logical step is to redo all the other trees, right?

I will double time it on the elements, so as to give them to Neocide and GLB as soon as possible, because if I'm gonna work on the next Dragon Ball Z All-Stars stage, I want to at least have finished coding Ryu, and maybe get most of Tifa and Asura's pixels out of the way first.

As for Allen and Ada, I've finished a paper sketch, which needs heavy fixing once translated into computer, tomorrow, I should at least have them outlined/fixed, and part of Allen done.

Oh crap I think you misunderstood. Or I wasn't very clear. There is 1 frame in there that has smudges on Piccolo. Right before the clone comes out. You can see Balth used a smear tool on the actual sprite. That's the only one I need. Balth didn't feel like trying to fix that particular sprite.

Woop. Thanks for telling me.

So this is the one? Or the one before it?

While I'm at it, I might as well post this:

Use it well @Just No Point: :P

Finally opened it up in PS to take a closer look. That one and the 2 before it it seems. In the gif it just looked like 1
So 3 total :)

And I'll do my best to use it well!!!

^^ Yep, they are of tremendous help. :)

I'll have it done tonight (along with the current commission)

And for those who don't know, it's real-life rapper Joe Budden, as he appears in Def Jam: Fight for NY, and yeah, I don't even know how he can pull off flying kick in clothes as baggy as those. :S

EDIT: As of this, frame 1/3 of the frames that are needed for Piccolo's transformation are done.

It's far from perfection, but I've figured out a direction I want to go with. Of course, as I get better, it'll get better with me.

For the most part yes it uses colors from Prodigy's attempt at a CPS3 Allen, but I wanted to use them to give you an idea of what I have in mind for future color schemes.

Since I'm gonna be buying a tablet soon, I though celebrate by preparing a very rough sketch of my future logo:

Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

Course, things are probably gonna change, but some shit's gonna stay (like mini-me looking OG).

it looks straight up like cps2. which is a good thing, but if you want to make it your own you might wanna stylize is a lot more.

Yes and no, CPS3 size (might have butchered that in the process, but ignore that for the time being) and colors, but that's not important.

And of course stylizing is gonna happen. You thought this was the end of it? I just needed a tangible base to kick start the more better stuff, and Allen was just that. You can't stylize something if you don't know how you want to go about the bulk of the work, right?

But let's get into what ideas I have in mind for stylizing it:

1) cross-hatched shading: [Judas] did something like this once, but I plan on making it look more like pixel hatches than what he did, since what he did was a kind of heavy thing.

2) black outlining/anti-aliasing: I didn't want to go back to this, but I might as well anyways, just to see if others like it.

3) currently left unknown because I haven't figured it out yet.

I'll post up a poll with the experiments once I finish. Should I leave the poll for a day or two, or a week? I feel like no one will even visit the vote if I put it up...
