I'm pretty sure that is more of a frowny "I'm determined to kick your ass face".

Also:

a bit too chubby.

Kyo isn't as muscled as, say, Guy, Cody or Ryu. In terms of proportions he's be more in line with Sakura or Yun/Yang.

Not even close. Kyo is 5'11" and weighs at about 75 kg, while Yun/Yang are 5'8" and 62 kg, and Sakura is 5'2" and 42 kg. The closest you can get to Kyo is Adon, who is taller than him by half an inch, and weighs two kilograms less than Kyo. And guess what I found when I compared upper bodies:

<--Not that much of a marginal difference.

I got some feedback from friends on it, I'll upload later this afternoon after giving it another look or two.

^ I should have (and I obviously failed to) mention that I wasn't working from his King of Fighters XIII sprite (where he actually looks kinda anime thin), but from his King of Fighters 2K2 sprites, where he didn't really look thin (at least when comparing them). So, sorry for any ensuing confusion my failure to speak up caused.


EDIT: UDON Crew on dA are having a SFvsDS fan art submission contest, if anyone's interested, the deadline's March 1st 2017.

Ahhh, well i only remember the XIII sprite cause of how beautiful it is, but its cool to see it based on the older versions

that looks great so far, but you should slightly increase the contrast with his skin, the colors blend too easily

^That's ArcSys Works fault, not mine (I took his skin tones from Anji Mito).



Its more-uhh- Guilty Gear-ish than accurate to the style, because there are things they did in it that I abhor to an extent.

Also, to those who requested the digital art, I haven't forgotten about them, I'm about to be near-done with the 2nd request soon. So sorry for keeping you all waiting.

If there is something the company did "wrong" you could just fix it tbh, I also think the skin could use a bit more of contrast. Less notorious on that level of resolution I suppose.

Small details aside, pretty spot on for the style. Looks amazing

I actually did change the contrast from the last one, but I guess it wasn't enough. I'll look into it again tomorrow.

Honestly, the only thing that is spot on is the face, because I traced over the CvS2 Iori sprite, side by side with Testament. The rest are really just ripped off from CvS2 with some minor changes here and there.

W.I.P of my social medial banner. I'm happy with the poses of my characters, all I gotta do is fix up some anatomical messes I made and work through the thing.

Digital painting w/o values is the best fun I've ever had and I'm sorry that I ever thought that I used line art when I first attempted it.

Made some more progress on Izanagi. I'm debating on whether I should make Narukami a bit wider or keep him the way he is.
