Was this game scarier than Silent Hills 1-3?

SF4, CvS2, 3S.

I also have MK vs DC, MK9, SCIV, Vanilla Blazblue, and a few other fighting games that I never really played or got entirely into.

Regularly? SF4 and SFXT

Hey do you play on PSN or Xbox Live?

First Shinji Mikami, then Keiji Inafune, then Hideaki Kamiya, and now him? Hm.

And finally, to the FGC: In no uncertain terms, you have been my reason for everything. A game can be incredible, but it’s the players and where they take it that elevate it into legend. Both as individuals and as a group, you have taught me more than I could have ever thought possible. Every hour on the road and every air mile towards my first million doesn’t begin to repay the debt I feel to all of you. You are a family to me. Today, the community is strong, and growing stronger. We fight, we make mistakes, we argue, and we compete but in the end we have each other. To you, I can only say ”thank you.” You continue to electrify the world and show the power not just of a game, but of a living, breathing community. Strive to be your best selves, to share our magic with the next generation, and above all else, take care of each other. We are a family.

So, am i the only person who thinks this game is overhyped and dull because of it? I find the playstyle slow. I understand what it is. I just find it fucking boring. SF3 is more fun to me (and i'm not a great fan of SF's playstyle either)

That's all personal preference. I do not like CvS2. Oddly, i don't mind CvS so much.

CvS2 is not slow at all.

Normally I am a bit more laid back about most topics, however when it comes to CvS2 I get a bit fanatical. We should have Drex and SophieX voice their opinions here. Doubt warusaki3 would post here though.

Before my old YouTube account was deleted, I was beating Reu's Evil Ryu, PotS' Ryu with Misobin AI patch, and a bunch of other crazy cheap Mugen AI patches with my CVS Kyo or Rock. I eventually created a CvS2 Ash and (was supposed to finish) my CvS2 Mina.

Anyways, no doctors needed. I vented it out :)

Most of what was mentioned had to do with sprites, music, arcade board, roster, and grooves. And I agree, CvS2 had the BEST voices for most of the KOF side. Even Sander71113 used Kyo's CvS voice samples. He did the same for his Iori as well.

Let me add a few other things that made the game unique:

- Very competitive game
- Strict timing on combos
- K-Groove damage is BADASS
- C-Groove Lvl 2 Cancelling was SICKKKK
- Rolling was really enhancing for charge characters like Guile, Bison, Vega. Roll ---> Summersault is sick
- Extreme execution. To land all your moves and strategies, everything rises and falls on your skill of executing. Linking normals into supers was SICK....
- FINEST KO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Shin Akuma's Misogi that is in no other game besides SvC
- The ratio system is just... AWESOME!

This game is the hardest game to master. It is more complex than 3rd Strike, in every way imaginable. Moves are harder to do, negative edge is higher, the roster is bigger so you gotta learn more matchups, the 6 grooves makes you have to learn more different matchups, in this game if you make one mistake, you can get punished way harsher than 3rd strike (a punish from a K-Groove super is done deal :D)

there's a lot more that I love about this game

Walt you have proven a point, but SF4 still looks pretty damn stupid that it looks nothing like 3rd Strike.

Yeah, some frames and animations are based on SF3, so they look pretty similar, but the models and art style is still very poorly done therefore it looks nothing like 3rd Strike.

I omitted the air tatsu's that crossed up 100% of the time with easy cake effort exclusively only in SFxT.

In SF4 is is moderately more difficult to prevent scrubbery, and in SFxT it is just ridiculous.

Yes, the next thing is to bitch about the actual game. Come on, they made Air Tatsu's so ridiculously easy to do. It is brainlessly effortless, and any scrub can just spam it over and over. It's really dumb.

Quote
"According to reports, the Jiangsu province girl supposedly began secretly visiting the elderly man next-door (then 80) when she was 12, having sex with him for 20 yuan a time.
This state of affairs continued for 4 years until the authorities finally got wind of it, and she was arrested after they determined that she had “largely coerced” him into the arrangement, and she was reportedly handed a 5 year sentence"

Of all crazy chinese stories I read about, this one tops them all.

I'm sorry Isaac, and please pardon me but, what you say about SF4 looking and playing like SF3 is kind of.... not really true. And what you said about Capcom copping out on one system with 6 grooves.... that's not true too.

Do you think CvS2 would have been fun, if one groove had all the effects? CC, Rage, JD, Parry, Roll, Run, Small Jump, Power up, Dodge, N-Groove Burst, Air Guard, and everything else? I have respect for you and man, what are you thinking?! 1 groove with everything? You probably just don't remember what CvS2 is like. CvS2 is notoriously commended for the variety of complex groove systems which makes the matchups, knowledge, fundamentals and challenges for the game all the more exciting.

SF4 is nothing like 3S, not even close in "looks," and not even close in play style. SF4 is more SF2-like, but with a modern day revision touch to it with the FA system and more defensive mechanics. 3S had really nice sprites. SF4 looks like everybody is on steroids. Not only that, but SF4 has a bunch of troll material in there. They are nothing alike, and they are in fact almost opposites I would say with contrast to SF4 and SF3.

The KOF roster got so badly nerfed it was nigh unplayable for me.

Bro, don't tell me that KOF characters aren't any good in CvS2. I got proof right here baby. And here is another one too.

Ono admitted in his recent European interview that:

"Back then, we had a different mentality. We had the goals to make the best games, such as 3rd Strike for hardcore fans. We wanted to cater to the loyal fans we had as much as possible. Unfortunately, our sales weren't too high from that though"

This statement alone is very powerful. Minus the Unfortunately sentence, I miss the old Capcom agenda when it was their INTEREST to make good game, not dumb down them.

Roll cancelling may be fucking mean and ruthless but it still didn't stop CvS2 from being one of the best games ever created.

Yeah anyways I hope this game gets better though. I wish they made it harder to link combos, and I wish linking supers wasn't so stupid easy. They made it EASY MODE on supers by DEFAULT just like MvC1- MvC2 but even worse. MvC weren't even that bad.

I should have trusted TempesT like ages ago when the game was BARELY announced, that she warned this game will be a bad game.

Quote
The game has its problems, but just like any other fighting game.
More or less right.  Definitely, SFxT has its share of problems, but this factor certainly can't be ignored.

I disagree. Every game has problems, but for most games the problems are not as big of a mess as this game is. This game is so bad it is unacceptable and embarrassing to even edify this game as a "normal" game with "normal problems" like every other fighter. If this game was good, then good respectable players would be hyping the shit out of this game making it more competitive and exciting. Unfortunately all the good players would rather make the better decision by sticking with SF4.

lol

i stopped following this stupid game months ago, are the download gems really pay to win?

The answer to your question is...
Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

In short, yes, pay to have higher advantages is a cheap shot. It's like the music industry. Paying your way into cheap silly ways to get recognition. It is like using auto-tunes on your fighting skills. It is like like taking steroids to win at sports. Or taking steroids just to get buff.
