Thank you! Right now no coding is done, some people have asked about/offered to code him but I've just been concentrating on completing the sprites for now. He almost has all of his most basic movements, but there is still a lot to do.

I've been updating the first post to show what is complete. Most of the things that are left have at least been started.

I used Alex as the main reference for these. Adjusting where I needed for them to work well with his other animations. And I just use photoshop

Some updates. Hopefully I'll have time to finish these up in the next couple of weeks.

The kick could use a little work in my opinion. Her weight should be over the foot that is still on the ground, otherwise gravity would tip her forward during that movement.

in Ryu's animation he leans back for balance.

Thanks guys! And yeah Rajaa was the one who was going to code it from the start. Long story short, Necro was made as a template for SF3 Strider before that got cancelled, M.Bison has been planned in his place ever since.

I'm bummed about Rajaa but he can't wait around forever. There have been a few people interested in coding him so it will happen eventually. I still have a lot to finish on my end anyways.

Will you include SFV animations?
There will be some but I haven't made any final decisions one anything.

I should really update this thread more..

What's new
  • All basic crouching, standing attacks and crouching gethits are pretty much complete now. I just need to touch them up.
  • I'm currently working toward getting all of his gethits done. The goal is to get him to the point of at least a punching bag soon
  • It looks like Rajaa may have retired. I'm waiting for confirmation on that for this character.

Here are some in progress animations. There might be a little more on twitter.

I'm so glad you already have the light and shadow areas separated like that! I still see some blue in the light areas outline but I'm sure you already know about that.

I forgot I messed with her face! I totally agree with you, a 3/4 view would look much better. And you're welcome to reference what ever you like from M.Bison.

I tried applying Twelve's palette to follow the same rules as the other chars. Hopefully it helps seeing it like this

Wow, these came out really nice! I think the bounce the skirt has makes sense for the kind of movements she is making and SF3, I've never seen a low wasted schoolgirl uniform though. I played with this a little bit.

Another thing to keep in mind is light areas and shadowed areas rarely share colors in SF3. You'll mainly notice that when looking at their outlines.

I don't know if it would help with your process at all but here is the process I use to keep the areas colors separate.

I use photoshop. It makes everything a lot easier when you can go from frame to frame and make small adjustments.

Yeah, it’s all subtle changes. Her arm lifts a little higher, chest and shoulder movement, she dips a pixel lower, torso is a pixel forward. The original goal was to fix her chest movement.

The frames are closer to her CVS animation now.

I had the same conversation with him. The thing is..
No one said he couldn’t link to youtube. What he wants is for mods to delete direct links.

It’s easy to understand the problem with that.

I think this whole thing is just an over reaction.

Played with SvC Chun-Li's stance. Mine is on the left, original on the right.

Are you asking if it's okay for you to only post the download on your social media/youtube or are you saying that someone shouldn't be allowed to post the download in your same thread?

If you're just wanting to sharing a video, maybe use the video thread.

It is simple I don't have a website and I use my YT channel to distribute my content, I kill two birds with one rock, people can see what I'm offering before download and further instructions are added to the description so I don't have to copy-paste instructions all over the forums and sites.

I don't understand what you are complaining about then. Your posts haven't changed, people will still follow your link if they are interested.

What do you want the mods to do, delete someones post if they have a direct link to what you are linking to? That doesn't seem fair.

It seems like everyone wins with how it is now, I'm not sure what you are complaining about.

Choose Your Opponent Screen possible in altered MUGEN 1.0

Please do not download this from anywhere besides here. Altered exe and bat files should only be downloaded from trusted sources.

This is just a proof of concept. Everything here is still very rough but I don't think I'll finish it since Ikemen is moving in this direction.

Here is an older clip of it working.
https://i.imgur.com/TpMBZKU.mp4

How it works:
I altered the mugen.exe file so that any AI players would be 2 players. That doesn't seem that great but if you want to put in a ton of work, you can make a 'Choose your opponent' screen by killing the player you don't want to face just before the match starts. This does involve coding most everything within roundstate 2 that mugen would normally do on it's own. And since you're already doing that, you can also have extra screens such 'judgement' AND 'grade screen' as seen in Street Fighter III.

This is a working example of that idea.
https://www.mediafire.com/file/u8jfds6589jfy8s/choice_test.zip/file

And here is the altered exe, if you would like to play with that by itself.
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/560288065562607626/785389856074891264/mugen1.0_exe.zip

Unrelated, but there are some other features in this build. There is also a 'rank score' that SAVES your high score if you use/run 3S.bat to start the game, the 'rank scores are only visible if you beat the game(2 matches in this download). There is beginnings of a countdown continue screen too. This is why you'll find some extra odd code in the characters.

I hope you guys enjoy it, even if it won't be finished.

similar to the last post.
Code:
[state n]
type = null
trigger1 = numpartner
trigger1 = partner,stateno = stateno
trigger1 = var(0) := 1
;--------
trigger2 = numenemy(0)
trigger2 = enemy(0),stateno = stateno
trigger2 = var(1) := 1
;-------
trigger3 = numenemy(1)
trigger3 = enemy(1),stateno = stateno
trigger3 = var(2) := 1

From how you've described it, an actual ifelse isn't needed. Normally ifelse or cond is used as "if, then, else" arguments.

floor(life / lifemax) would always be 0, unless life = lifemax.

maybe you meant (lifemax/life)

Awesome work as always!

I noticed holding down or holding up just before pressing back will be treated the same as holding back. Is this purposeful?
