Well, they will function, yes, but you'll have an invisible guard crush meter and the characters draw some sounds and FX from common files. You'd also have to open the .sff and change the portraits since they use custom portraits that don't fit normal mugen standards.

I plan on releasing updated versions of everyone soon, along with the last 3 previously unreleased SHADEs characters (Chad In Black, Specialist, and Vesper).

Hm. I can't seem to do it, I'm using both a wired USB Xbox controller and a TE USB Joystick and I'm having trouble getting Down-Back -> Neutral Up attacks to come out, but Down-Back -> Up-Back works consistently.

I'm done with the first part of Snow, all I gotta do is the matchups and then that's done. I think I'll do it for the heroes first and then do the villains, and then finally put everything together to make my final tier list, which will obv be up for debate.

Just uploaded another patch, basically just added stuff to the existing patch. It fixes a few things here and there but isn't meant to be comprehensive. Here's a list of stuff:

-Updated CharacterMovelist
-Added EXCharacterMovelist, separate because eventually there will be EX versions of everyone

Character Specific Stuff:

Snow
-Tried adding some stuff to see if Psych Slice will be easier to do, but as far as I can tell I've done all I can do to fix this issue.

Fray
-Added more pushback and cornerpush to a lot of her specials and her Clash City Rockers super
-Added width to those same specials/super because without it she was getting way too close to her opponent
-Added more recovery time to her DM so it can be punished

Chad In Black
-Less range and damage on Revenant's Resonance
-Applied the code that makes RR adhere to the damage dampener
-More recovery on EX RR so it can't be done twice in a combo
-Lost Souls has less duration, reduced from 450 ticks to 180 ticks
-L2 Super, Revenant's Regret, no longer counters aerial attacks
-Adjusted width, hitbox, and placement of Revenant's Regret so that most if not all missing issues should be fixed
-More start-up on L1 Super, Die Die My Darling
-Fixed any damage dampener issues with the helpers
-Any ghost-related helpers will disappear if Chad is hit
-Hopefully not as OP as before

Sabotage
-More recovery on DM, making it less safe and more punishable. Turns out I forgot to flag the recovery frames on this one.

Vesper
-EX moves now work with any combination of buttons

EX Vesper
-Replaced incorrect .snd file with correct one

Adamas
-No longer triggers credits at the beginning of arcade mode

The download link is the same one as before.

Very nice. The Psych Slice is actually easier, so success. The matchups for Snow will take longer than I thought due to me doing alot of shit today, but I should have him done by end of the day, and if I stay up all night, I can do Garret Laurel's. I chose these two because I like them alot, so I'll have that done before long I'm sure. My schedule during the week is unknown, but if I'm lucky I'll be able to do some more during the week. If that's the case I want to have 6 characters done by next friday. It's alot of writing. Need a fuggn wiki.  :)

Whelp, now that the game's patched again, I seem to have stumbled across some more issues.

Thirteen can juggle (one) normal off of his DM.
Adamas's taunt gives power at the beginning of the animation, not the end like the other characters.
and finally, an asthetic issue more than anything else: Obsydian still has Bryne's vs portrait, unlike the other ex characters.

Overall though, I'm loving this game. Snow's ending was unexpectedly brutal, actually. Kind of fitting, though.

Seriously love this game a lot, thanks for all the hard work put in to make it all happen. I think all the character designs are awesome too, and it's definitely got the comic book feel to the story which I'm all about. I know nothing about character coding, but as far as the screenpack goes, there's a few minor things I noticed that you may want to address, or not. Definitely nothing major though.

-I noticed there's no win count icons in the lifebars.

-you can see a few red pixels in each of the inner corners of each lifebar side (p1 and p2). Maybe just extend the sprites a tad. I pretty much live on photoshop, so my eyes just naturally lock-on to that sort of thing, but it's not like it's an eye sore or anything close.

-just because it's mugen 1.0, and it can handle it, maybe you could go around the borders of the silver rings in the lifebars with a few more fill in pixels or a blur tool to make them look more high quality. The sharp pixel edges around them now just throw off the highres appeal you got going on with the rest of the look. Again, nothing major, but if you're a perfectionist with these types of things, thought you might wanna look into it.

Again, thanks for the game man, it really is a lot of fun. It's a bitch to beat on hard though, but that just makes it even better. I can't stand being spoon fed when I play games, it takes all the fun out of it.

About the lifebars, since i made em, well the versions that were in winmugen before the switch, coding and aligning at least.  (the spriter we lost contact with)
The win counter - had tried a few things, but nothing looked good with the lifebars, in my opinion.
The red pixels - when aligning in the winmugen version the way i had been given the lifbar sprites, they were sligtly off, so i thought i got em, but i guess not.
The blur - Again origional spriter isnt around to do this, but then again its also Sean Altly's choice.

Yeah man, none of what I stated was major and most people probably would never notice it anyways. If you guys did want to fix them up a bit though, I'd be willing to lend a hand on that stuff, since you lost contact with the original spriter. I'm sure it's not at the top of the to-do list, but if you do want the help ever, just let me know.

Sure, the game is fully unpacked so if you want to take a look at some stuff and see if it can be improved, that'd be great. The guy who made a lot of the stuff for our screenpack kind of fell off the face of the planet a while ago, so we could use the help.

UPDATE 10/29/11

If you redownload the patch you may notice something different. It's a bigger file, and that's because I added EX Fray to the selectable characters.

She has almost a completely different moveset, save for a few normals and her DM. She has actual punches as normals, and most of her kick normals have been rearranged. She has 4 new specials replacing the other ones, 3 new supers, and a new overhead command move. Check the updated EX Character Movelist file for her complete movelist and additional details. Anyway, I hope she's fun for you guys, and she is just the first of many since my end goal here is for every character to have an EX version, like in the first Capcom vs. SNK.

The next update will be a big one, and will include at least 2 more EX characters, character specific winquotes for everyone, and some more code tweaks here and there.

Sean, I have been playing this game to see the character endings. It's interesting how some characters get connected somehow. Nice artwork. I have to give feedback on some issues though.

-The "FIGHT" anim takes a bit too long to disappear as the fight starts. It blocks a big part of the screen and the computer is usually already attacking or in the air before I can see what's going on. I can't imagine that this was intentional. Maybe you can delay control/movement until the animation is completely off the screen, or make it disappear faster.

-I'll go into specifics about each character later. But one this that affects all of them is the intros. They speak at the same time. It's hard to understand who is saying what. There's no exchange, it's just mumble-mumble. Maybe you could have player 1 do his intro, then player 2, before they fight. Or custome intros for different character combinations. Just mentioning it because right now it's messy.

NOW I HAVE TO DO MORE WRITING! FUCK IT ALL!

I know I kind of owe you those damned character analysis + tier list and I wanted to be finished with atleast half of it before I sent it to you but I've been kind of busy and I didn't want to give myself a deadline on when I sent it. With every character getting an EX mode...I'm gonna need to start paraphrasing.  :'(

You don't have to write big things on each character, my good sir. I'd be completely satisfied with just a tier list, or a paragraph write-up for each. The EX characters are more for fun than anything, and you don't have to include them. In fact, as far as the tier list goes, I'd prefer they be left out. I appreciate the work and feedback though, but I don't want you to feel obligated to write a strategy guide or anything. Thanks again.

Don't think I ever tried your fullgame before just certain characters, it's pretty good so far, I do like it. Only thing I can say atm is that I think some of the music seems off as far as choices, but that I can change on my own anyhow, overall the music you picked pretty good stuff for the stages I've tried, nice work man.

Your fire stage makes me think of this song [LINK]

I think it suits the mood better, that's what I'm using now and since you have some songs similar to this style with their jazz influence in some songs, Nujabes is someone I can recommend if you enjoy it too :)

I think it's good you're making a tier list, very interested in how that'll turn out.

@SeanAtly: Great work! I've been a fan of yours ever since I stumbled upon your Rorschach, glad to see you've gone to such ambitious heights with your creations.

I'm pretty sure that's how it is in most 2-D fighting games... --;

Finished Snow, Garret Laurel and Byrne's matchups, but I don't think the Garret Laurel and Byrne matchups are ready yet, simply because a few of them are based on AI experiences, whereas with Snow I had a human opponent help me out with it. I'll give you the file if you can just tell me what the hell I do with it.

Looking forward to it, Cazaki.

By the way, has anyone had a chance to mess around with EX Fray? I was looking for some feedback and opinions on how she plays and how she feels compared to normal Fray. Just wondering.

EX Sabotage and EX Exile will be released soon.
